2025 Playoffs Chat & Chill Thread

Wow, Kawhi with the first half 3 point buzzer beater.

Not sure how much longer we’ll see him in the playoffs being this fit.

I’m certainly savouring every moment of this.

So what do we have to do to become Detroit? Cuz they sucked last year. Draft long and athletic dudes? New York is lucky to only be tied, they easily could be down 0-2 heading to Detroit. Thibbs is so overrated. His teams always run out of gas in the playoffs.
Drafting one of the top 3 picks this year would be a nice start.

Jokic is a hell of a flopper.

DET loaded up on vets, vets win you games. When our roster was loaded with vets the past two seasons we were probably at a similar level to them, but we play in the West and quit half way through.

Be in the Eastern Conference. Draft top-5 for several consecutive years (including winning the 1st overall). Be in the Eastern Conference.

I'm wondering what has happened to Tech who is now getting DNP-CDs for Detroit. He finished last season great for Detroit and this year his mpg got cut in half. I think he could help Cade more in this series than Holland or even Ausar, who really is just a hustle and defense guy. They dont even need Ausar crashing the glass that much with Harris, Duren and Reed on the lineup.

Is it just about the future? Bickerstaff did not mind benching vets and investing minutes to young guys in Cleveland either, so I guess he is like that as a coach.

FWIW Ausar has 44 minutes, 15 points (40/0/43 splits, with zero 3 point attempts), 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 stocks, 5 turnovers and 11 personal fouls in these first two games. I think Tech would do way better than that, unless he has somehow gotten worse from a year ago.

Also it seems even wilder that Tech cant get on the court when you consider that Malik freaking Beasley is there and runner up in 6th man of the year betting odds.

With us Beasley looked like an offensive black hole who cant defend a lick and Tech was "do it all" guy who made the whole team function better.

I guess its about the fit and having a guy like Beasley who shoots with no conscience works better for their purposes.

I've always thought that Simone plays much better as a do it all starter than an off the bench scorer. He seems to need touches to get in to rhythm and prefers to dribble ball a little vs just let it fly.

I don't know if I'm right or if it has anything to do with what is going on this year in Detroit, but that's my theory.

From what I hear (I haven't watched many Pistons games) Beasley has actually been trying to play defense this year.
