    Jazz sign Babacar Sane

NGL, I've never heard of this dude

    Jazz Sign Patty Mills

100% this. This is not a tank roster. Unless we shed all the vets (sans Lauri) we'll be decently competitive. I'm fine with it.

Holy freaking crap man. That must have taken hours.

Jazz sign Drew Eubanks 2yr 10mil

Roster is trending towards pure mid. Hmm.

Fan Duel Win Totals -- Jazz at 27.5 wins

Barring drastic tank-a-thon moves between now and the season starting, I'd take the over for sure. Between Lauri, Keyonte, Sexton, the JC's, and Walker, there is too much veteran talent for us to be firmly in the cellar. And even if we blow up the roster at the deadline for the 2H tank again...

    Lauri re-signs for 5 years 238 million

Every "#2 option on a contending team" is a max player in today's day and age. 100% of teams in the NBA teams that are actually trying to win would max Lauri for 5 years given the opportunity (and even a chunk of those that aren't). And the fact we have him for the full 5 with no option in year...

Shams: Utah and Lauri expected to agree to long term deal

OK. I said "one of the most valuable assets" - not top 5, 10, etc. You're getting awful hung up on semantics here.

Shams: Utah and Lauri expected to agree to long term deal

Definitely better players, but probably not a ton at his age + with that many years of team control. But yes I'm sure there's a handful at the least.

Shams: Utah and Lauri expected to agree to long term deal

Yes. Lauri on a long-term deal immediately becomes one of the most valuable assets in the league.

    Gordon Hayward Retires

Kind of a bitch move from DW here, lol

    Gordon Hayward Retires

Congrats to GH on a decent career and making a boatload of money. Very good player, unfortunately injury riddled, and clearly a bit of a weird dude. So many of his decisions + bizarre social media presence felt ego driven. I'd never say it's "karma" for someone to shatter an ankle and break...

Which Will Be Easier: Competing for a Title

I would agree. Despite my 4-6 vote, I still don't think it's particularly "likely" we win a championship in that window (or any window, lol).

Which Will Be Easier: Competing for a Title

I get the Wemby thing. But in the era of super-teams, if the Spurs aren't title-worthy in the next 1-3 years, I suspect we'll run into some other ungodly collection of talent that could be equally formidable. I went with 4-6 years from now based on that's when I think our team will be the most...

    Following Potential 2025 Draftees

One could argue Anthony Edwards. But your point is astute.

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

I don't think we'd get both. And based on our 2H performance the last two seasons, it's clear DA/JZ/WH can construct a roster/rotation to ensure the requisite level of suck.

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

I'm going to disagree a bit here on Kuminga. I think he'd be a perfect tank commander for the 2024-2025 season. You're not going to win at all running your offense through him and Keyonte next season - they're just too young. That said, both guys are just scratching the surface, and I think JK...

Game Thread Jul 21, 2024 06:30pm: Pistons Vs Jazz (Summer League)

I am begrudgingly coming around on Flip. Dukie, and total weirdo. But he's got game for days.

    Does Lauri Get Traded?

If we get a young player as a cornerstone piece in a GSW deal it has to be Kuminga. Podz + some picks but not “all the picks” is a hard pass for me. Kuminga is, at minimum, a 10+ year plus starter with fantastic two-way potential. If the shooting clicks in he has All Star/All-NBA potential.
