Yeah. Honestly would’ve needed to do it before signing anyone other than Lauri. Unless they trade a guy like Collins/Clarkson and take back more salary, I think this is pretty much it for salary based moves this year.

Especially given how cheap he and Collier are both going to be vs. their expected contributions.

When the Jazz signed Simone, they signed him for two guaranteed years at less money. I feel like they could’ve easily gotten him to agree to a third year guaranteed and a 4th year team option at the amounts that Svi got. Nobody was really banging down his door before the Jazz signed him.

I agree with you. And, I think it’d be dirty to do it to him. But if the plan is to tank, outside of trading him at a discount it would be the easiest way to achieve a lower record.
