2024 Jazzfanz Annual Current draft

With Embiid and Kawhi it’s legit though. How many post seasons have those guys been close to 100% in the last 5 years? Turning off injuries would send a bunch of guys way higher and I’m not sure that’s the point of this exercise. It’s part of who those players are. It’s like turning off other attributes imo. Like I’ll take the Giannis but bad shooting is turned off.
No it's not.

I dont disagree with your overall point, but that is a terrible comparison.

And Embiid just averaged 33-11-7 in Philly's series while playing 41 MPG. He has played games in 7 straight years of making the playoffs. I know he has gone down during the PO in some of those years, but he is not on the level of Kawhi when it comes to injuries being a near given. To fall to 10 for Embid is absurd IMO.

He's always coming back from or nursing an injury in the playoffs. Even this year doing what he did he was dragging a leg. His playoff numbers are bad in part cuz he's a foul merchant and also because he is usually struggling with some injury. He also played 39 games last year. He's fairly dinged for being injury prone. Maybe not as much as Kawhi/Zion but theres a legit question if he will be 90-100% when it matters most.

Those are some incredibly good bad playoff numbers then.

I think the fact that he hasnt gotten past the 2nd round is gonna hurt him. I picked Ant over him and Steph because he has "projection value" due to the fact that he had 27.6/7/6.5 stats last playoffs and took his team to conference finals (eliminating Jokic in the process).

Over his career his playoff numbers are quite a bit worse than in regular season. Last year he had good volume but the efficiency wasn't fantastic. They've beat how many good teams in the playoffs over his career?

People here like Embiid. Dont think anyone hates him, but I think sometimes people weight injuries way too harshly. Anyone labeled as injury prone is looked at as automatically being injured in a lot of cases, which I think is unfair.

Honestly I would rather we kind of treat this stuff like "injuries turned off".

But I think it's fair with Russ because we've seen him ruin a team who should have won it all. Russ just isnt a guy I would take in an all-time draft becasue I dont think he makes a star loaded team better, so I get it in that case.
In what world did Russ ruin a team that should have won it all?

I hate to bring reality to your delusions.

11-12 season- They went to the NBA finals
12-13 season- Presti made the horrible mistake of trading Harden but the thunder still had the best record in the western conference. Unfortunately Beverly cheap shots Westbrook in the 1st rd and only plays 2 games.
13-14 season- Once again 1st in the western conference but lose in the conference finals to a spurs team that was playing incredible ball and destroyed Lebron and the heat in the finals. Nothing disappointing about losing to that spurs team.
14-15 season- KD gets injured and misses 52 games
15-16 season- Thunder had a bounce back year and had the 73-9 Warriors on the ropes but couldn't quite pull it off.

Then of course KD pulls probably the most uncompetitive move in sports history and decides since he can't beat the 73-9 warriors he might as well join them. I'm not seeing the part where he ruined a team that should have won it all. They were extremely competitive and unfortunately had 2 seasons derailed by injury.

The Wemby pick a little wild. I would have considered him after SGA/Embiid/Jokic/Giannis/Luka were off the board. To me that is the clear top 5 in the NBA. After that, I would rather be picking in the 10-14 range than 6-9.

He was picked at #17 in the all-time draft. And in that draft we base it on their best year, which is his rookie year...

Look that was early for Wemby imo… but if he’s gonna win multiple titles on his rookie deal he needs to start soon.
