    Why Tomic > Kanter

Truth is if the guy doesn't want to compete against the best we don't want him on the team. Tough pill to swallow. Signing an upper tier free agent becomes more important.

I have a feeling we're going to get a diamond in the rough with one of our 2 round picks with our upgraded scouting dept.

Zach Lowe: Utah trade 1st rounder for Batum

With all this internal development talk by Lindsey being Quinn's strong suit, it's pretty clear we're not going to do a deal like this. If he had 2-3 years on his contract I'd consider it. Don't change what's working.

    Lowry anybody?

I don't understand all the Lowry hate. Toronto would have won like 20 games without him. Starting Lineup: Amir Johnson Terrence Ross Jonas Valanciunas Kyle Lowry DeMar DeRozan Amir and Lowry are the only two I would even want on a Jazz roster.

    Lowry anybody?

That would be a great deal but that doesn't mean we should do it. I don't think we'll do our blockbuster trade where we cash in some of these assets happens until we are ready to contend in a couple years.

Maybe if we include our own first that's top 5 protected or something. You never know what teams will accept.

    Tomic offered buyout:

Good point. This will be the first time in Jazz history where the fans will be OK with a status quo summer. That doesn't mean we won't see some draft magic, but as far as free agents go I don't think we'll see much.

I wouldn't go that far. Maybe if we wanted to get up to 1-3 we would need Favors + 2 firsts. But for picks 5-7 you're probably looking at Burks, Burke and a first. Which I would be fine with.

    Tomic offered buyout:

From Sportando: Ante Tomic asks €2 million to extend with Barcelona The Catalan team doesn't want to pay so much, so a flight to USA for Tomic becomes possibile Fc Barcelona Basquet will have a very busy summer, because the team may have to change many as eight players. The Catalan...

I'm officially on the Winslow train. I've always liked him, but the increasing likelihood of Tomic coming over has me convinced it would be our best option to move up and get him.

Or does that make his value as an asset greater, making the jazz more likely to use him to move up in the draft?

    Tomic offered buyout:

Yes, put as little of shooting on the floor as possible is the new pattern of thinking.

    Tomic offered buyout:

    Or from June!

    Tomic offered buyout:

This makes things interesting. Gobert and Tomic are both strictly 5's, so If Gobert is getting 33 or so minutes a game that only leaves 15 for someone with the stature of Tomic. Of course you want an insurance policy though. Great news regardless! Every reason to be excited for next season...
