What's new

Tomic offered buyout:

Yesterday's interview on 1280 with DL was basically saying tomic would be here next season. He said quin loves the guy, and has coached him before when he was in Europe.

Chompionship

Slow down tiger, Tomic would make the Jazz very, very good but it hasn't happened yet even though it looks very promising. We still have a major issue to address and that is PG position. Dante may yet be the man of the future but he has to improve dramatically before we start chompionshiping. Burke is still in the Jazz mix in my opinion and he isn't quite ready to lead us to titles either. That all said this is great news and definitely make the Jazz an elite team potentially.

This makes things interesting. Gobert and Tomic are both strictly 5's, so If Gobert is getting 33 or so minutes a game that only leaves 15 for someone with the stature of Tomic. Of course you want an insurance policy though. Great news regardless!

Every reason to be excited for next season.

This year's team + Tomic + Burks + top 12 pick + not having 17 rookies on the roster = ???

EDIT

It's a story from march...

oh well. Here are my excited gifs anyways.

you're trapped in older patterns of thinking (i.e. NOT QUIN'S)

Grandpa, I think vegas is really just saying that Tomic is a good eater.

A group of bigs made up of Favors, Gobert, Tomic, Booker is, frankly, insane. There's a lot of differing skillsets there that can be used in different combinations and pretty much a tool for anything an opposing team would throw at us in the 4/5 positions. Quin has to be thrilled.

I actually think Tomic - with his passing - will complement Booker really well off the bench, given how well Booker moves without the basketball and his emerging stretch game.

I was just on the Sportando website and saw nothing about Tomic. Of course I see this article is a month and a half old. Barcelona just got kicked out of the Euroleague playoffs, but still has Spanish league play. It would be nice if we knew how much his buyout is. But all indications are that it is not much more than the 600,000 we can offer. Of course it sounds like Barcelona is also willing to up its contract to him.

I thought it was super obvious this was going to happen with DL's comments and Snyder's praise of Tomic's ability from coaching in the Euroleague. Didn't really get why some people still doubted him coming over.

You would think it would be in Tomic's best interest to sign a 2-year deal to play in the NBA.

Worst case scenario: He sucks and still go back to Euroleague and be paid nicely

Best case: He gets a Tiaggo Splitter contract for his 2nd contract (super attainable especially given the upcoming salary cap boost).
