Let me preface with the fact that I think Dennis Lindsey is a good GM and I'm glad to have him. He's still made some mistakes though. Which one was his biggest? Was it,
-Drafting Trey Burke over CJ McCollum?
-Betting that Hayward would resign with the Jazz?
-Drafting Tony Bradley over various...
When it comes down it, I actually think the Wizards will hold on to Porter and try him with their new nucleus and trade Beal or Wall. Beal & Wall seem to have a lot more trade value given Otto Porter's contract. I don't think it's worth it for the Wizards to trade him. He's worth more to them...
What would it realistically take to get Otto Porter? Washington is well into the luxury tax category this year and it's hard to pay that if you aren't even going to make the playoffs. I have to think Porter is expendable. They're basically out of cap space for next year too. Signing Porter would...
Sounds like our best hope is that two big time free agents want to sign with the Clippers. If they don't, they'll likely fall back on Harris on the other max. The odds seem to be getting less likely we sign him as time goes on dang it.
It the Clips really have 0 interest in dumping him at the...
I disagree with how Hoops Hype has rated these players. Anyhow, I still think far and away our best and realistic option is Tobias Harris. We really need the Clippers to start losing a lot of games.
Can I add Joe Harris to the list? I was clamoring for him in as a last piece addition in the offseason as well. He got a little more money than I thought (2 years $16 million) but his numbers have been stellar. 13 ppg and 30-50 from the 3 point line on the year.
And keeping our first round pick...
I don't get it either. I was perplexed by it. I thought it was basically a done deal, especially given the contract he signed and that the Jazz probably could've got him for slightly cheaper. I guess maybe we choose Niang/Sefolosha over him.
Not really. Jerebko was a > 40% 3 pt shooter. He sat the bench and we just let him go.
There were 85 players in the NBA last year who shot 39.9% from the 3 or better. I'm also anticipating Allen is taking good, open looks.
Allen does have a nice overall game. I still think he needs to become a > 40% 3 point shooter though. If he can do that, I think he can be a solid player. He sure looks like he has the mechanics to be able to do so.
Jabari signs a 2 year/$30 milion deal and then is traded to the Jazz for Burks, Udoh & Grayson Allen?
Know what's sad? Even if presented with that offer, I think there's 0 chance the Jazz would do it.
The resting of Grayson Allen has been the most stupid thing. He's going to be sitting the bench all next season and will get plenty of opportunities to observe at that point.
IMO if Lindsey gets Bjelica and re-signs Exum to a decent deal, he'll have hit this offseason out of the park. With having maintained big time flexibility next offseason he maximized the team for this upcoming season.
There's no material difference between the Jazz offering $15 million or $18 million for this season. It makes no different in the Jazz salary options other than taking a little more out of their pockets and moving a little more into Favors', keeping him happier on this one year deal. It was a...
This is actually a good deal. The Jazz now get to choose if they want to keep Favors or not next season and they threw him a few extra million for this year that doesn't actually change anything because the Jazz are already over the salary cap.
