What's new

Jabari Parker...

Ad hominem is always the best way to express your argument. When you have none that is. Might as well just say "nuh-uh" really loudly. "Idiot!" seems to be all the rage right now, maybe try that.

The guy is just plain over-rated. Got sent down to the G league repeatedly last season. All stats dropped off dramatically last season, ALL of them. He cut off his team's social media, which in today's world is almost the same as publicly requesting a trade. Cannot work his immense talent into a team with another immense talent. If he were that good they should have a super-team right now. Instead Parker is on the outside looking in, and hoping to parlay the famed potential into a big contract. I give you that part of that might be that Giannis doesn't like him, but if he were that good why wouldn't Giannis want him around to create their super team? He practices and plays with Parker and has WAY more overall exposure, as does the coaching staff and FO that sent him down to the G league. Maybe they know something we don't? Then again, we all knew better than the jury what really happened in the OJ case, after all we saw a half of the trial so of course we know better, right?

He might get things straightened out, he might overcome the injury bug, he might turn into a solid 3rd tier player, he might be able to partially carry a team, he might become a consistent contributor, he might get out of the G league, hell he might become the league MPV, he might be the next Jordan (Next Jordan #2,186, they are pretty common among fans). Those are a LOT of mights in a guy that wants a big contract. It would be a huge mistake to pay for that jumbled mess right now. No reason to add Parker, he is not the missing piece, he is not a current all-star talent, and it would be a huge waste of resources for us to tie up cash and time in a project that might work out and might not. We are in win-now mode, not buy high and hope in a few years maybe if we are lucky we have a possible solid third or 4th option. That is a great recipe to waste Rudy's peak years. Who do you think we are, Sacramento?

Don't get me wrong, I like Parker. I hope he gets it together and turns into something. I will root for the kid. On another team. Not worth tying up our valuable cap space on a questionable project right now.

Just say NO to Parker.

He got sent to the G-league as part of his rehab so he could practice if the Bucks had a game that day. Jazz have done stuff like that.

It helps your argument if you actually try to look up the context behind the facts. For now, it looks like you’ve made your conclusion and are just trying to find “facts” to fit your conclusion.

Re-read my post. I noted he is the next Jimmer IN THE EYES OF JAZZ FANZ, in that he is the Second Coming, as Jimmer was viewed by many. I also said the difference was that Parker will have a place in the league, Jimmer is in China. I never once said they were the same in terms of talent or ability. Parker is definitely an NBA player. But he is severely over-rated by fans of the Jazz, like Jimmer was, and part of that is the tie to Utah.
Lol at you thinking that jazzfanz viewed Jimmer as the second coming or whatever. Most jazzfanz wanted no part of jimmer. Im about as big a jimmer homer as ever lived and while at was at the jazz arena during that draft (2012 i think) I was hoping and praying that he would be taken before the jazz pick came up. Thankfully sacramento took him at #10 so he was off the board when the jazz picked at #12 and we didn't have to worry about it.
I think most jazzfanz recognized that he was not big enough or athletic enough to be a good nba player and certainly not a lottery pick or "second coming" or whatever.

There was a definite vocal contingent on here pining for him, and a lot of my friends were too. Similar to Parker now.

Maybe a few. It seemed like a small minority to me. I heard more of the other side, people threatening to turn in their fan card if he was drafted.

I diagree again. Where are all these Jazzfanz clamoring for Jabari? Id say Im in the minority here. I think you are trying to imply this is about being a fan of a mormon. Im not mormon. I couldnt care less what religion he is. Nor would I not like him because of it either. I never was a Jimmer fan myself either. This is strictly about his talent.

Most people here are against Jabari. So I dont see where you are getting this from. There is nothing comparable at all other than Mormonism between Jabari and Jimmer.

What in the heck is going on around Jazzfanz. I cannot wrap my mind around the anti Jabari sentiment.

I totally can understand if your hesitation is about the knee. That makes sense. But not recognizing that this man is a superb talent is absurd. Going as far as saying he is the next Jimmer, a bench player. Good heck. I cant help but wonder just how small the box some people are living in.

At 21 years old he averaged 20 and 6 on 49% FG 37% from three.

At 19 - 12&5 49% FG
At 20 - 14&5 49% FG

He clearly was ascending into being a very good basketball player. If you watched any highlights or games you can clearly see that he has the tools to be a dominant player.

There is also little to no evidence of him having a bad attitude. Where does this stuff even come from? The narrative just seems to feed into itself somehow.

He is the closest thing to an allstar talent that we could possibly even get right now, and everyone is trying to find any excuse they can to not like him
bump....

the evidence is now from the horse's mouth. "Defense? We talkin' 'bout defense? Ain't nobody pay nobody to play no defense."

Just say no to Parker.

The funny thing about his no body gets paid to play defense statement... is Rudy did. Didn't want him on the team and after his comment don't need to worry. For the most part the Jazz emphasize defense.

Man that quote kinda shows the struggle... completely unaware... just reeks of years of AAU coddling and guys stroking his ego.

Self awareness and maturity are so rare... Makes me so happy we are built around guys like Rudy and DM.

Jabari stans are nowhere near Jimmer stans, but they all belong to the same neighborhood of Mormon stans. Like DL and QS are really gonna give a **** about someone's religion.

In before "ticket sales" and "appeal to the fan base"

Donovan and Rudy are doing just fine bringing Utah to a fever pitch.

Agreed. Utah does not need to sell tickets at this point. The base is rabid enough in down years to mostly fill Vivint and we have a winner right now.
