    Would you trade ...

Parker would require a max contract & has injury concerns. It's a worthwhile risk, which is why I would offer him a max contract in FA, but I wouldn't also pass on a 1st (assuming it's not a late 1st) in order to do so.

    Would you trade ...

I agree Burks, as well as Rubio, should be traded if possible but with 1 more year left on their deals, I wouldn't include assets to do so. Which I assume it would require if we're looking to dump their salary.

    Would you trade ...

Then we should look to trade them as well. Our focus should be on adding long-term assets. Role-players & depth shouldn't be prioritized until the core has been established. As for Parker, I agree we should trade for him if the price is reasonable. But I wouldn't include Hood, which I imagine...

    Would you trade ...

Trade Hood, Favors, & JJ for the highest 1st available without bringing back long-term salary. This increases our draft position & gives DL an additional shot at drafting another star. If I'm not mistaken, we can offer Parker a max contract if we decline the options on Seflosha, Jerebko, &...

Central tank command : the official thread

It's obviously possible to find talent any where in the draft & DL has clearly shown the ability to do so more than others but statisticlly, (again, not sure how reliable the source is) you generally have a higher chance of finding a "star" the higher you pick. Gobert & Mitchell (to a lesser...

Central tank command : the official thread

Genuine question for non-tank supporters: We're currently sitting at #11. If we stand pat/improve, I envision us ending up anywhere from #11-15 (If not higher). Without Favors + depth (Jerebko, JJ, Thabo, Udoh, Burks) I believe we would likely be somewhere between #6-10. I don't know this...

What Should We Do With Rubio?

Rubio should be traded for anything aside from a multi-year contract(s). More so due to fit than talent (Burks as well). I'm not too familiar with our current/future cap situation but a small-market franchise can't afford to miss out on the (legitimately possible) potential to add a talent...

    Nikola Mirotic

Exum has as much potential as he does risk, not to mention he's a possible good fit alongside DM. We shouldn't sell low on him right now IMO. Substitute Bradley & I think that's a reasonable trade for all 3 teams.

    Nikola Mirotic

I would give up any combination outside of Exum (?), DM, Ingles, Hood, Gobert, & 1st's for mirotic but a 3rd team would likely need to be involved as the assets that would likely interest CHI are (seemingly) our long-term core. Maybe a PF/C needy team is willing to ship prospects/picks to CHI...

    Nikola Mirotic

If CHI decides to stick with Portis & Markannan, Mirotic would be a great buy- low target & theoretically should fit very well on our current roster. The potential roadblock would likely be finding expendable trade chips that would intrigue CHI (without sacraficing our own long-term...

    I love Ricky Rubio.

Rubio is very good at what he does. And seems to be a "Jazz kind of guy". But stylistically, he's about as bad of a fit as there is as far as Mitchell's backcourt partner. IMO we need to target a guard who can hit open shots, is capable of switching on defense, & splitting ball handling duties...

    Would you trade ...

PHO appears to have the cap sace to acquire 2 of Rubo/Favors/Burks while sending Monroe's expiring in return. Could anyone see them being interested enough to part with a decent asset(s)? Is Rubio/Burks for Monroe/protected 1st realistic? Favors to MIL/CLE seems like a logical fit & I imagine...

Central tank command : the official thread

Trade everyone for anything of value/shed salary outside of Mitchell /Gobert + Exum/Ingles/Hood/Bradley (unless someone overpays). Favors + our depth is what is currently keeping us afloat. Without it, I could see us finishing in the top 10. Also, if I'm not mistaken, freeing salary would enable...

    Would you trade ...

IMO the core moving forward should be: Exum (Too early to give up on) Mitchell Ingles/Hood (If price is reasonable) ? Gobert/Bradley (If he pans out) Aggressively target Jabari Parker as a RFA, flip all other assets outside of 1st's (which in return should improve this year's pick), & draft...

Would you rather have us in the playoffs or getting better draft picks?

We're still an impact player away from contending & although DL has shown the ability to find talent outside of the lottery, you still have to play the odds IMO. The higher the draft pick, the better.

What are the plans for next off-season?

If tanking is out of the question, trying to pry Parker away from MIL is the best move IMO. Even if it takes the max, as much of a risk as that would be.
  18. K

What type of player do we put next to Mitchell?

IMO we should be attempting to acquire that game-changing stretch 4 thru the draft (which is why I still support tanking). We're unlikely to attract a FA of that caliber or acquire 1 without having to give up Gobert or Mitchell. But we're also unlikely to end up picking high enough to draft that...

    Is the Tank Back On?

I still believe, since it's extremely unlikely that we win the championship this year, that having the highest probability of acquiring that 3rd impact player needs to be the priority if we're going to have a chance at winning a title anytime soon. That being said, it's clear that management...

What type of player do we put next to Mitchell?

You have to include Gobert in the equation & because of his style of play, as well as Mitchell's ability to drive/finish, the most important piece is a (at minimum) starting caliber stretch 4 IMO. Exum(/tbd) Mitchell Ingles Stretch 4 Gobert Hood: 6th man Exum developing into a solid 3 & D...
