The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

And I completely disagree. There is no way I'm trusting Wiggins, Porter, Bjeleca, Payton II, and Toscano in a playoff series against Phoenix. I'm not sure if you've watched Golden State lately, but that bunch is an absolute mess without Draymond on the floor, and Draymond, based on Marcus...

Game Thread Jan 24, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz at Suns

Stuff like this is why the Jazz are hated by most NBA fans. We have this "arrogant" feeling as a fanbase, and it is shared by our reporters. If Ben wasn't an idiot, he would look at Donovan's shooting lately, or Steph's shooting lately. Granted, a bunch of media covering the NBA act like they...

    Jazz 3pt %

tldr: Every team in the NBA is experiencing this - seriously look it up. For whatever reason this year, shooting is down across the entire league, regardless of shot quality, frequency, defense, etc...

If he is, Snyder should sit him for a few weeks. Let him get his legs back. The Jazz aren't falling below a top 4-5 seed. Seeding at this point shouldn't matter. The goal should be to make sure the entire roster is healthy by April. If that means sacrificing regular season games, then so be it.

Game Thread Jan 24, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz at Suns

Both teams were in a bit of a pickle tonight. Rotations, lineups, shot selection - everything was just off. Both teams played really hard, and the Jazz just ran up against the best team in clutch situations in a close game. Hard to ask anything more from them on the 2nd night of a B2B.

IDK what to take away from this game tonight. Phoenix became really sloppy the rest of the game until the 4th Q hit. Our guys played hard as hell, but I think thats about all we can take away I think. We won't ever see those lineups out on the floor like that in a playoff series with both teams...

    Trade deadline discussion

RealGM actually has several legit basketball Xs and Os posters on there, and they're very knowledgeable about the game. But they are overwhelmed by the majority of the idiots on there, mostly Lakers, Warriors, and Nets fans.

Biyombo and McGee were excellent vets, but had down years last year - I don't think McGee barely got any PT with Denver, which is crazy. Biyombo's father passed away and he took time off from basketball, but apparently stayed in shape. James Jones got both at the vet minimum. The Suns weakness...

Huge injury news for the Suns: Jae Crowder might have just broken his wrist on a fall. Cam Payne also injured his wrist tonight. Suns depth if Crowder is out, just a took a huge hit. They may look to make a trade, which could hurt their chemistry.

Golden State isn't beating Phoenix unless Klay gets back to at least 90% of his peak by playoff time. Golden State has a bunch of guys that are good in the regular season, but will not be great in the playoffs IMO.

They're this perfect example of the sum of the whole is greater than their individual pieces - they're well coached, versatile in their roster, run sound offense, disciplined defense, and they are clutch. I've been thinking the Warriors would be the favorite in a series against them, but I...

    Are we really a contender?

Tell me - who the hell on the Jazz is guarding Booker AND CP3??? They just made the finals, and have had significant injury time missed by both Booker and Ayton (Ayton got hurt yesterday with an ankle turn), and they still have the best record in the league.

Quotes from Nuggets' forums-"Weren't we down by 3 going into the 4th? What the hell happened?"

How is this shocking? They have one of the worst benches in the NBA. Now Hyland? Hes good - that guy has 6MOTY potential. Hes just a rookie right now - but everyone else on that bench? Good lord what a mess.

I know everyone wants to pile on Booker, but if you followed the exchange between him and the mascot after the game, it was pretty funny. Seemed like both him and the mascot are laughing it off

Game Thread Jan 01, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Warriors

The difference between us and Phoenix is that Phoenix has Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, and Jae Crowder taking the primary minutes at the 3/4 spots - good offensively and defensively. We have O'Neal, Bogdonavic, and Gay - slightly better/on-par offensively, much worse defensively. Their...

This is pretty disappointing by the Jazz. The 2 spot is right there for the taking. Phoenix is SLUMPING big time. They probably will lose today, making it 4 losses out of 5, with the injuries and COVID outbreak that hit them. And the Jazz still can't get to 2nd? Major disappointment.

Suns luck with covid and injuries, as I predicted earlier in this thread, finally did them in. CP3 looks a step slow right now. Suns are without DeAndre Ayton, Javale McGee, Jae Crowder, and Monty Williams. Super thin in the front court, and are starting their 2nd year player Jalen Smith at...

Predict the Jazz's record for the rest of December...

I have them going 8-1. That is schedule friendly of a stretch in the NBA that you can ask for.

    Historically Great Offense

Yes it is - they are playing well. But lets not get too ahead of ourselves, and understand that the Clippers were playing us on the road without Batum and PG13. The Jazz took care of business and did what they were supposed to do.

That Suns Spain P&R is one of the most deadly P&Rs in the NBA - they don't shoot the 3, but when they do, they're pretty efficient, and usually the 3s out of that action are wide the hell open. And the Blazers couldn't stop it last night, even with Booker out.
