    Official NJ Nets Watch

Did the Jazz really expect that in trading their best player, one of the league’s best playmakers, to another team that that team would get worse or stay the same?

Kris Humphries since All Star Break

Or maybe it's a special player who excels in pre-KG Boston, Minnesota and post-Deron/Sloan Utah. Perhaps there's a pattern there somewhere.

You know we are playing for lottery balls when...

But, but Devin Harris is lightning quick and you don't have to build around a PG and the next Dwight Howard is now backing up Sap and Al.

You know we are playing for lottery balls when...

The Jazz are just 2 games out of the 8th seed and you get the feeling that it's as if they're already 20 games behind.

KOC Was Planning To Trade D-Will All Along?

To some Jazz fans, KOC can do nothing and still be great. Or he can trade away a franchise player to rebuild instead of getting him help and still be great. Nice. Now it's finally revealed KOC was merely playing the waiting game on the loser of the Knicks/Nets Melodrama all along. Imagine if...

    Official NJ Nets Watch

The Nets have recently gone 4-6 and were a basket away from having gone 5-5 the last 10 so going 10-10 may not be far-fetched. They were .300 with Devin Harris but now well they have a different point dishing out 15 assists a game. What could work for the Jazz is if the Nets start losing in the...

What is wrong with the Jazz Defense

Perhaps a bad habit carried over from the Nets? Watched some Deron'd Nets games and the defense is just terrible. You see what happens when players don't fight through picks. They just switch all the time, which leads to predictable mismatches such as an opposing quick wing taking a slower big...

    Official NJ Nets Watch

Still too early to call that. Why can’t the Nets catch up to teams a few games ahead of them but you think that the teams a few games behind the Nets can catch up to them?

    Official NJ Nets Watch

Been watching the Nets with some interest and my thoughts: Lopez is a skilled offensive player. Starting to run the pick and roll with Deron better. Sucks at rebounding though except for the 2nd London game. In comparison, Jefferson seems a bit slow for the pick and roll. Millsap does it...

    Official NJ Nets Watch

This game makes you appreciate why Sloan insists on fighting screens, not switching all the time. Nets switch all the time and it results in mismatches a lot of times (Bargnani shooting over Gaines, a quicker wing blowing past a big).

Both games were sold out, so there's a little bit of interest from Londoners, and it's a once a year thing after all. The games would probably still have sold out if the NBA had sent the Bron-less Cavs and Deron-less Jazz.

KOC: "We would have picked Favors higher than #3"

Favors was probably 2. And Evan Turner 1, the next Brandon Roy alongside Deron. If the Jazz were in a position to draft Wall, i.e. won #1, he was possibly looked at as bait to trade down to get Turner or Favors with something extra. That's my guess from what I remember around the draft last...

    Adam Morrison

Really, Morrison?! Why not just play Hayward?

    AK's resurgence

If AK was great in 2004 and Deron was drafted in 2005 and not let loose by Sloan until around the second half of 2005-06, why was not the greatness of AK revealed between 2004 through early 2006 when Deron wasn't in a position to ruin AK's beautiful game? Contract year not figuring into all...

Jazz @ Pistons 5:30 MT Saturday

Nice seven-year cycle. Last chance to show up in a contract year?

Bill Simmons take on the Deron Williams trade

If CP3 goes to NY with Melo and Amare as expected, and the soon-to-be NY Nets get Deron to stick around and they somehow lure Dwight Howard to Brooklyn, damn, that would be a terrific NY-based rivalry. I'd like to see it happen.

    You DONT build around PG

Sooo, the Jazz should've traded Stockton when they had the chance, eh? If the Jazz didn't draft Deron in 2005, who should they have taken at #3? The only other choice was CP3 -- what position does that guy play again? Well, we'll all just have to see how many rings Utah wins by building around...

    Al Jefferson`s february

Big Al fluorishes in losing teams. See the Jazz record in Feb, including the first post-DWill one. Then see the pre-KG Boston and Minnesota years. As the Jazz will be a rebuilding team, it can only get much better for the Al Man.

Bell to be gone by trade deadline

    Rebuilding, how it will be

So how do you think rebuilding in the Post-Sloan, Post-Williams era will go? Here's one scenario: Jazz in the lottery for the next five years. Typical, if not optimistic, for many teams. Jazz strike draft gold in 2016. Super draftee fully develops in 2021. Jazz in some playoffs games...
