Utah Jazz VS the cavs moo....Fri. Jan 10 7:00 PM ROOT Sports 97.5 FM / 1280 AM / 960 AM

Well, many people with much better knowledge of basketball (scouts and GMs) have been watching Karl and John play for 4 seasons by the time they turned 22. And they decided that no way that these two could become stars. It was quite obvious to them that Wayman Tisdale, Jon Koncak and Benoit...

Utah Jazz VS the cavs moo....Fri. Jan 10 7:00 PM ROOT Sports 97.5 FM / 1280 AM / 960 AM

It is always great to have a man who can so clearly see the future of 22-year old players. Of course, I remember how in the mid-1980s the Jazz drafted two 22-year olds in the middle of the draft, since everybody agreed that no way they could turn out to be stars: one not physically gifted point...

OKC @ SLC - Utah Jazz Game - 7:00 PM MST on FSOK, ROOT, ZONE

Yep this is exactly the approach that amazes me. Apparently, there are many on this site who simply lost an appreciation for the game of basketball. Instead of a natural excitement after a great game which included a poster, a duel of two shooters and many other subplots those people are only...

OKC @ SLC - Utah Jazz Game - 7:00 PM MST on FSOK, ROOT, ZONE

The Jazz have the worst fans in the league: they just pulled out a hard-fought win, everybody played great, their best big had a poster on Durant, their best wing had a career night... and all they got from the fans is whining and calling them losers. You guys are just pathetic.

    The Enes Kanter Appreciation Thread

What I appreciate the most about Kanter is his opponent's 23 PER for the season. It assures that in every Jazz game there will be a big playing on the level of Nowitzki /Aldridge. Good job, Enes: it's always fun to watch a dominant big man.

Gamethread: The jeffersons A Utah today last tiem we get to see him for the year/season

You mean, a rookie after a month of playing in the NBA is not holding his own against the best PG in the world? Yeah, a real disappointment.

    Why shouldn't

Hey, I would settle for, say, the 6th +Kanter for the 4th (and get Randle), or 7/8 +Kanter for the 5th (and get Exum, Smart etc.). I am just afraid that if we hang on onto Kanter we will end up with an expensive, but deeply flawed big like our beloved Memo.

    Why shouldn't

... the Jazz try to resign Marvin to a long-term contract and trade Kanter+ their 2014 pick for a higher 2014 pick? Marvin is versatile : if the Jazz draft a SF he can play a stretch 4, if the Jazz draft a big he can easily slide in the role of the third big/bigger SF. Marvin will probably...

    Jazz @ Blazers - Dec 6th - 8PM MST

Favors+Kanter=1 rebound in the first half. Good effort.

    Jazz @ Blazers - Dec 6th - 8PM MST

Trey is forcing it like Hayward used to do several games ago. He will learn though. It will be fun to watch him grow.

    Jazz @ Blazers - Dec 6th - 8PM MST

New York and Milwaukee got wins today and the Jazz are again number one! Now it's up to our guys to protect our lead.

Well Folks, we have a Point Guard: Trey Burke

The Jazz simply cannot afford having a top 5 PG, they are too expensive: CP3 and DWill are paid >18 million. You simply cannot afford to pay that much to your PG unless he is a scoring machine like Rose or Westbrooke. If you want to build a contender you reserve that kind of money for your bigs...

    Favors with Burke

I tried to quantify the impact that having a real PG had on Favors: In 12 games without Burke his stats were: 47% FG, 60% FT, 14.5 points per 36, 11.0 rebounds per 36. In 5 games with Burke playing >= 25 min: 62% FG, 85% FT, 17.9 points per 36, 10.7 rebounds per 36. Favors looked like...

It's good to see you again, Big Al

Dude, Kanter made one three-pointer in his 3 years in the NBA. One.

It's good to see you again, Big Al

Yep. By the way, you can look up Jefferson's stats when he was 21-22 - he was an offensive rebounding beast as well back then: second in the league in 2007-8. Young bigs tend to be good on the offensive glass in the year when they are first given big minutes: remember Millsap? It is just...

It's good to see you again, Big Al

Hi, Al, good to see you on my Jazz team. You know, I got concerned when last year so many fans turned on you and how I heard some (obviously false) rumors that you have left the Jazz. But when I turned the TV on this season, I saw you again , your old glorious self. And, as usual you are an...

    The Spurs Way

Ummm...no. Just no. Quite a few small market teams lucked out and landed a superstar. Cleveland got Lebron, New Orleans - Paul, Orlando got Shaq and Howard. The difference is that San Antonio managed to keep their star happy, surrounded him with great players drafted at 28, 57 and 15, found a...

    Position of need

OK, it seems that the Jazz will get a top 5 pick in 2014 and that there will be quite a few good players with a little separation so if the Jazz miss on Wiggins they can simply draft for need. So, based on what we have seen in the preseason so far where is the biggest need for Utah?

    Lindsey Comments About Neto

The Spurs became arguably the best franchise of the last 15 years by being patient and finding/developing players overseas. There is precious little to gain in wrestling an unproven second-round pick from his team... and Lindsey clearly intends to stay with the Jazz for a while. I don't think he...
