When will Ty Corbin grow the balls to bench Bell?

I'm also frustrated by his inability or unwillingness to drive to the hoop. I'm pretty sure it's an inability because he never really drove to the hoop when he was younger. He excelled as a spot up shooter with Phoenix, but that's not really available to him in the Jazz offense. And now he...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

This...is a good analysis, thanks for posting. As for my own, it's not just based on yesterday's game, but last season as well. Big Al had some great offensive games with blocked shots, and he had some not-so-great games, which happens to everyone. But what's consistent and troubling is the...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

But as a caveat, I don't think the Jazz will trade Harris unless it's for someone amazing. With the tweaked flex offense, I don't think they want to re-teach a new PG how to run it when the season has already started and the condensed schedule allows for such few practices. I also think the...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

Also according to ESPN Trade Machine, trading Al/Harris for Dalembert/Lowry works without having to throw in Bell or Miles. We would save about $4000 and according to Hollinger's analysis our wins would go up +23.

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

I like that trade too. I think the Rockets would go for it, especially if we throw in a 1st rounder. I still really like Iggy though. I'd also try to throw in Bell instead of Miles, but I'm sure the Rockets would say no.

A dependable square tire on a Porsche. Okay maybe not a Porsche but some kind of fast car. In any case, you need the right parts for the right car, and Big Al just doesn't fit.

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

Good question. I think Big Al would've been a beast in the 80s to the early/mid 90s, when many teams played a slow, methodical, half-court game. He would've been awesome on those Fratello-coached Cavs teams that bored everyone to tears. Unfortunately, for him, the game has changed, and he's a...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

I think we can and should get better for Big Al and Harris. I also don't think we should trade Harris, yet. I like the idea of trading straight up for Iggy better, or someone else's idea of a 3 team trade with Philly and Houston. Though I don't think Philly would take Kevin Martin since they...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

I agree. If Al was there, instead of pick and rolls with Hayward and Favors, we would've dumped the ball into Big Al and watch him maybe make a shot, maybe not. I just don't feel comfortable relying on Big Al for offense, not because he's not capable of occasionally delivering, but because no...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

If I remember correctly, after DWill was traded last year, Big Al went on a scoring spree. And we lost most of those games. And if I remember correctly, Big Al scored plenty for the T-Wolves. And they lost most of their games. As Harris recently said in an interview, the Jazz have plenty of...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

And I know it's just a fantasy projection, not actual inside info, but I know Philly has been thinking/trying to trade him for years, but I speculate it's because they've been waiting for the right time and pieces for such a valuable player. Also, KOC came from Philly, and though...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

I think for the right pieces, they will. And there's this: ESPN Fantasy Projection: After missing just six games in his first six seasons, Iguodala missed 15 games due to a sore Achilles. That contributed to a swoon in scoring and steals for Iggy last season, but it wasn't the only factor...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

what if we added one of our 1st round picks for next year? the golden state one? in an awesome draft? they might bite. and they've been looking to trade Iggy forever. and Big Al would be an upgrade over Hawes. A 3-man rotation of Brand, Big Al, and Hawes would be pretty formidable up front.

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

Ah weird, doesn't work in Trade Machine, but I know they're sometimes behind.

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

I think this is a great idea. I've always thought the Jazz should go after AI for all the reasons you stated. Lock-down defender, decent scorer, good guy on and off the court. And their salaries match up. And then get Pryz, a veteran C, who I've always thought would do well with the Jazz...

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

unfortunately a big al for hill/thabeet trade doesn't match up salary-wise.

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

Ha that's what I just said to someone's proposal to trade for Martin. But I'd rather have him than Hill/Thabeet. But really, I'd rather have what you just said, a good SF.

Jefferson should officially be on the trading block

Don't we already have enough young assets? Isn't there such a thing as too many young assets? Where's the line between young assets and a Junior Jazz team? But yea, I guess we could find a veteran C somewhere (though Cs in general are a wanted commodity--Kurt Thomas is still in the league)...
