Very nice post. The only thing I disagree with is that we should trade AL now. I'm all for picking Kanter, he has great potential, range on his shot, and is clearly not afraid of some hard work. That said, there just isn't much film on the guy and he comes with a lot of risk. Keeping Al around...
Fair enough. If he is worth drafting he will put forth as much effort for the Jazz as any other team and if he isn't, then we wasted this opportunity in the first place. I don't think this will effect what the Jazz do on draft day.
His conditioning wasn't awesome the entire year, but it did improve quite a bit as the season progressed. The injury that he suffered could have had a lot to do with it, it has taken many athletes a season or two to come back from the same injury. He is reportedly going to work out with Sap in...
I think a significant portion of Big Al's fitness flaws can be attributed to his knee. As he played on it more and more his conditioning and his rebounding did improve. He had a stretch where he was getting 10-15 rebounds a game in the 3rd quarter of the season.
If he stays in Utah and works...
Favors has more raw potential IMO, and he all reports indicate that he will do his best to reach it. That isn't a knock on Hayward who has his share as well. When push comes to shove I think I have to take Favors simply because a really good big man is hard to find and can impact the game more...
I doubt the Nets win another game. They may have played better at home but they don't have 3 of their 4 best players, and they only have 5 good players to start with. The Nets are done, hopefully Sacto can surge on for one more game and give us the 5 spot.
They are likely to lose out with no Humphries or Dwill. If that's the case, I think we will have a coinflip for 4th. Sacto is playing well even if they have a tough schedule, an dhopefully Toronto can pull another win (other than against NJ) out of their asses.
I like watching the young guys and seeing how the future is coming together. Hayward, Favors and Al look like they will be good pieces of the puzzle and Sap needs to be the 6th man and come in and dominate other teams backups.
Maybe, but if Ty keeps losing, Greg won't have his back and then he's out of a job. Jefferson has played great and Ty has done nothing. I'd say Big Al has more job security despite Ty's faux extension and I don't think Ty is dumb enough to completely alienate his best player. If he drills a hole...
I'd be worried if looked like Al's behavior was cancerous like Dwill's did, but did you see how excited he was when he was on the bench and Favors hit that J from the top of the key with a couple of minutes left in the fourth? He wasn't mopping about not being in the game, he just wanted to get...
