What's new

1/7/11: Jazz at Grizzlies, 6pm MT -- FSR-UT/KFNZ

That's a good summary of the game. Some guy named Connely comes, breaks down the D, gets the and 1, and puts the nail in the coffin. Terrible effort tonight from pretty much everyone except for Al, Millsap, Hayward and Watkins.

oh no!

worst slump of the season

sloan should bench deron and start earl

trade al jeff for matthews

elect hayward skew president

I didn't get to watch the game because of work... so.... only having your comments, and the boxscore to go off of...
It looks like we lost because of turnovers.
Anyone find it wierd that Hayward in 20 minutes had a +7, Watson in 19 was +1, and the rest of the team was -?
I'm guessing the defense could have been better, and was there foul trouble on anyone like Deron?
Lots of blocks for us this game... but to allow 17 steals???? that is terrible. I would also assume many of the steals resulted in points for them.

Was there a silver lining besides Watson shooting 100%; Hayward shooting 50% total and from 3, getting 5 assists, 1 reb, 1 stl, and 1 block; and Jefferson and Sap doing fine?
Dwill shot like garbage it seems... but we need someone to step up.
How did CJ play? He only got 9 minutes and 1 shot so he must have sucked on D or something. 2 turnovers in 9 minutes is impressive.

Well this board is pretty dead tonight. And yet people tell me I'm not a Jazz fan? Where the **** are all you fair weather, anti-Boozer ****suckers at?????

What a bleh game. Got sort of interesting at the end of the 4th but this team hasn't looked right all year - it's just we're fresh out of miracle comebacks (even Millsap couldn't hit a 3 in 2 attempts, amazingly). 3pt defense matches the worst I've seen from us in the D-Will era but in this game, unlike vs Atlanta, Memphis also killed us in the paint. Deron is getting visibly frustrated; people just aren't getting open for him, whether because they're not "running the offense" or because other teams are playing crazy-good D in spite of it. I don't know what to make of Jefferson, for a while it looked like he was starting to gel w/ D-will but the last 7-10 games or so he just seems uninvolved on offense. Starting to get serious dejavu watching this team lately - every game feels like a carbon copy of the last one.

Deron seems to be playing waiting to get frustrated. I was happy to see him go to the bench in the first with 2 quick fouls. We stayed in the first with Watson on the floor. Deron seems worn out, sick?, frustrated. He did come back and have a mediocre 2nd half. Raja was awful and price outplayed him. Too bad he didn't foul out before the 3rd quarter. Hayward played well and AJ had a really decent game. I thought AK played alright. Not sure why he didn't get more minutes. I would have like to see him and Hayward in with bell on the bench. Bell probably couldn't even be a bench player for most NBA teams. Jazz really need to find themselves if they are going to be able to compete for the rest of the season.

Jazz are starting to come back down to Earth after a hot start to the season (barring first two games). Deron was arguably the best player in the league for that stretch and you would be honest to say that the team have overachieved thus far this season. Deron has cooled off and so have the Jazz.

Now the Jazz are going through a bad patch, as all teams will. It's a long season and I'd say don't bother looking at the standings until the end of the season. Lakers are also going through a bad patch, Dallas seems to have slowed down without Dirk and Thunder are riddled with inconsistencies.

Don't get too worried or frustrated. It's just one of those phases. Just wish I could tell that to D Will though. He seems prone to tantrums and frustrations.

We're weak at the 2-guard. AK is more of a complementary player who needs better players to complement. Millsap is undersized and has only basic skills.

I think Al is doing pretty well though, 16/13 and 5 blocks.

Trying to make a living unfortunately. Believe me I would rather be on here and watching the game. Even when we lose it beats being at work.
