What's new

12/13 Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz 7:00pm MST

Sometimes I don't know if I like watching Deron more in the game or on the bench. His reaction shots are just as good as the plays. That's a leader.

I like Jeremy Evans more than you do. I just do and everyone should accept that. Fight it out for second, I don't care who wins.

The whole Evans highlight reel was so good in the 2nd quarter that I was actually surprised we were losing at the half. It made me not care. But that has to stop. It's just ridiculous at this point how bad we play in the first quarters of games.

Why did Evans hardly get any burn in the 2nd half? He was easily the best player we had in the 1st half.

Who cares, we won. I want to see something more from Evans besides dunks before I call him the best player we have on the floor at any given time. I am happy for him, he got some minutes and he made them count. Can't complain about that. Well other than his conditioning. Was pretty obvious that he was gassed after his stint.

OTOH, as soon as Memo gets back, Hayward needs to head to Orem. He's not ready for the NBA game yet. Hell I'm not convinced yet that Evans is ready either, but at least he's contributing something when he gets in.

....hey Monte! Can we squeeze one more jail-house tat on that arm of yours???

The first quarter was the first time I had bad thoughts about Al. I still love the guy, but he's got to do a better job of picking his shots. It's the Tim Duncan learning curve (not that Al is ever going to be TD.) He plays like he's trying to get himself hot. TD doesn't care if he doesn't score ever. He just knows he will and takes the points where they come. Al will get there, but he has to forget the pressure and just play.

That is fantastic. And people were saying that Jefferson was a worse defender than boozer...

I especially loved the stuff he did after Millsap got hit in the face.

I think CJ is best when he isn't jacking up 3's. He really can finish around the hoop.

Evans just freaks me out with his ability. Get some meat on his bones, learn to rebound and he is going to be a force.

Question of the day for me: Can Evans make a move off the dribble, or does he always need someone throwing the ball 13 feet in the air for him, while he stands somewhere near the hoop?

Well there are only two more guys in positive +/- with +8 and +5. Fes' +14 seems way out of line.
If you want to see out-of-line +/- stats, check out the WAS-SAC boxscore from last week - LINK - where the Kings won 116-91. Jason Thompson played 38 minutes and had a +/- of +45. Donte Greene played 28 minutes and had a +/- of just +1. DeMarcus Cousins played 23 minutes and had a +/- of -5. All three are starters - yet the Kings were out-scored in the first quarter. Just bizarre.

Evans was unknown for a reason guys. He's not gonna just have the basketball skill of AK or Shawn Marion all of a sudden.

SO how do you feel about your boy Hayward, Honz? At this point, whether you have faith in him or not, have to agree he his complete and utter garbage. I mean, even Scott Padgett showed something...anything.

The guy is a flat out freak athlete. Yet he's also a pretty good basketball player. He passes, he plays within himself, and he actually defends with intensity even if he doesn't have the body yet. If he never learns to shoot, he's the next Birdman. I can live with that.

Garbage. But you can see the anger building in his eyes and one of theses games he is gonna make a couple shots and get rolling.

I believe this is the Year Of Searching for young Hayward. I see ability in the kid. But let's face it--if he isn't actually a good shooter than he's totally worthless. If he is actually a good shooter, he will be a good player in the league. But I'm starting to have my doubts considering his uneven college stats in that regard.

Deron and CJ owned the fourth after our bench got us rolling. Good thing we had Fes tonight he gave us some good bang. If have seen Junior Jazz boys with a better game face than Hayward. Dude needs to play with some confidence. Good win but I can't help but wonder why we didn't put this game away earlier.

Did anyone mention Al's 6 blocked shots in just 33 mins? I can live with the guy's offensive ups and downs if he can be active like that on the defensive end. Fess looked good out there too, considering he had been out for a while.

yes, it has been mentioned, but it deserves to be mentioned again.

I suppose Sloan wants to prevent that Evans gets hurt. As long this dude doesn't have enough muscles he can not sustain the energy level of an NBA game for long so in case he stays in the game, the chance to get hurt might increase. If I'd be his coach I'd take him out also after max 15 minutes playing time.

Portland, Dallas, and NO all lost tonight. It was a good night for us.

Remember when we could outrebound the Warriors? Ugh, we're #27 in the league right now....
