What's new

12/17 Utah (18-8) at New Orleans (14-10) 6pm MST

This is the stat that defines the game for me:

Rebounds:

Utah: 24 (Sap leading the way with a whole 6)
NO: 53 (Okafor with 11 and 4 other players with more than Sap's Jazz high of 6)

I'm not sure how many teams win games in the NBA with a -29 rebounding margin.

Jerry should do his own little rookie hazing except for the whole team and make them wear pink princess back backs if they're going to put up that kind of effort, heck besides the fact it would never happen I think it would be acceptable to make them all wear skirts with last nights effort.

The team looked slow and disinterested, kind of like how I used to look after a late night bender. Bourbon Street claims more victims.

Last night made me nostalgic for the days of Booze and Okur patrolling the rim. We should have put a cheery Welcome Mat under the basket. Good times.

The offense made me nostalgic for an old Saab I used to have. Toward the end, it used to stall out 15 times before I got to the grocery store. The windows and radio also didn't work thanks to some electrical issue that wasn't worth fixing. I kept thinking, "One more month." Then it was "one more week." I was driving it when it finally died for good in traffic. Unbelievably, somebody paid ME 50 dollars to haul it off to a junkyard for parts. Watching it being hauled away from me forever was one of the best days of my life.

Did your Saab used to work more slowly during the first and third quarters of any trip you took lol?

I finally figured out why the Jazz played so soft in this game. Utah's rookies, Evans and Gordon Hayward, had a special request from Raja Bell for their required gameday culinary delivery to the team. Instead of the standard bagels or doughnuts, the NBA newbies had to bring their more experienced teammates a batch of beignets, the French pastries that are a popular item in the Big Easy.

Heck this is as good a reason as what I have been reading. lol

Glad I didn't watch that disaster. Looks like the Jazz just shot jumpers and push shots all game being out rebounded by 30.

I hate "due" arguments, but it feels like DWill is due a let-down game against CP3 and the Hornets...But I hope not, and I'm excited for the game. (The last few games I've been excited for ended with disappointment though.)

I'm back and forth on this one. If I had to pick, I would say Utah wins this one by less than 10 but the game will be out of reach for NO by the middle of the 4th quarter at the latest.

See what happens when I try to be optimistic just for the sake of optimism? My gut was right. My JazzFanz induced attempt at uptimism failed me, y'all.
