Big games tonight:

Memphis vs NY -- cannot decide
Wasington vs Boston
Sacramento vs Orlando -- can't decide, either way we win.
Us vs Charlotte - duh
Cleveland vs Chicago -- win/win (if only it were literally win/win)
Philadelphia vs Milwaukee -- can't decide. Wanting to give up on Milwaukee.
Dallas vs Phoenix -- another tough decision.
Lakers vs Golden State

Other games are irrelevant.

[edit: we need Denver over the Clippers to maintain their lead over GSW]

Lopez out for season. Not that I want people to get injured, but if it's going to happen can't it be someone on GS?

This is ****ing huge. And ****ty. Hawks fans have to be pumped that after seeing their team blow all of their huge cap space on not-great players and taking themselves out of the draft this year in the process, things are going to work out even better now (they own the right to swap picks with the Nets).

So, an interesting note. In games where the EC has played the WC, the WC leads 90-42 (this is doing quick math so I might be off by a few games). Thats pretty bad for the EC. Half of those wins came from the top 4 teams (Miami, Indiana, Atlanta, Boston).

Golden State has played a total of 4 games against the Eastern Conference so they have another 26 games against them. Contrast that with Dallas who has played 10 games, Denver who has played 9, Houston who has played 10, Clippers who have played 12, Lakers have played 8, Minnesota has played 12, NO has played 9, and Memphis has played 8. Phoenix on the other hand has only played 5. GS has also only played 12 home games to 15 road games. They have had a fairly tough start to the season and are still above .500. If they have more injuries, then they might not make the playoffs, but they will be able to make a run once their schedule gets easier. Hopefully a few of the bad EC teams can find a way to beat them.

Edit: Golden State has a 7 game Eastern Road trip from Dec. 29 to January 8. We will know a lot more about them after that trip.

I think GS finishes somewhere in the 4-6 range in the WC. It is nice that they've struggled early. Still means a critical injury could make them slip out of the playoffs. Anyone know what Jeff Gillooly is up to these days?

I feel like this will be a repeat of 2011-2012 where GSW screw us and we screw ourselves out of a good pick in the name of "being competitive."

Jazz setting themselves up for the 8th pick. And GS WILL make the playoffs. With so many lousy EC playoff teams, expect the GS pick to be in the 23-25 range.

This. ****ing this.

Yeah, EXCEPT had we missed the playoffs we would have drafted 13th (or 16th, or whatever), and probably drafted Kendall Marshall, who is terrible. Or better yet, Royce White or Tyler Zeller or some other scrub who was taken in that range in the draft. So wtf did that really cost us. We got to keep our picks after that... that pick we owed Minnesota had diminishing protections. I'm not sure because I don't remember completely, but we may not have had assets to draft Trey had we not "taken the bullet" that year.

We would have gotten the GSW pick too had we lost that game against them. Who knows if we would have been able to package and move up, but this is all neither here nor there.

Milawaukee 's tank is strong. Just before tip off they pulled john Henson out of the game.

Philly's tank is strong they are losing to Milawaukee.

Jazz need help remembering what a tank is.
