What's new

14th Tank Platoon

Garnett, Thornton, and Livingston not playing today. Lakers got a chance against a short-handed Nets squad.

Jason Collins will play tonight. He was ****ty in his prime, can only imagine how crappy he is now.

Might have to tune into the game, to watch when Jason Collins checks in. Huge, huge moment for professional sports!

I love Curry's game, so Id rather see the rest of his team get hurt. Not him. Id like it better if he was around longer. He makes the NBA as whole better.

He was part of the tank by milking his injury. Could have returned. SO I hate him as much as all the others who were part of that tank. Time to get them bacl.

Great story.

Here's the quote and the link.
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-o...orts-the-idea-of-nets-adding-davis-or-collins

"Garnett was also complimentary of Jason Collins, who worked out for the Nets on Thursday. He actually spoke of the parallels between the two players.

“I played with JC too, very similar to Baby. Probably doesn't have the distance in some of the skill level, but, great competitor, plays team basketball, is for the team, great guy, great character. Those two can definitely help this team.”
Collins' signing would make him the NBA's first active, openly gay player. Garnett expounded on the necessity of players getting a chance regardless of background, saying, "I think it's important that anybody who has the capabilities and skill level to have a chance to [do] something he's great at." He added, “I think it would be bias, and in a sense, racist, if you was to keep that opportunity from a person.""

I understand the bias part - and agree with it. If the guy can play basketball (which he can't) then by all means sign him. But how would it be racist, especially if they had signed Davis instead? This is a marketing move. Brooklyn can now claim they're the most open-minded franchise in the world. They've just earned themselves a ton of free publicity.

When someone on the internet says "great story" it's meant sarcastically and they really don't care. In this case, I don't care about what Kevin Garnett says and what you think about what he says.

Yes, I know that. But I really don't care what you care about.
Thought others might find the "racist" reference outrageous. Apparently not.

To me, it's as bad as when the NBA was compared to slavery.
