For the record I think occupying a federal facility is idiotic. It is also raising the anti to where the feds must respond so that you can become the victim/martyr.
In my opinion "terrorism" is just a hyperbolic way of describing certain types of crimes committed by certain types of people.
Not to mention no one is under attack.
From my reading up further on this it seems that the people at this site are more of the hard liners on this issue. The majority have distanced themselves from it.
Also this government building is really a stone cabin/house out in the wilderness on a wildlife refugee.
This is so dumb. If black kids with toy guns and Samurai swords are being blown away...we need to stop blowing away kids with tyo guns and Samurai swords. Has nothing at all to do with how aggressively we should treat these protesters.
And I'm kind of hot for due process and fair trials. I think even those "terrorists" in Guantanamo deserve a fair trial, to be presented with the evidence against them and given the opportunity to provide a defense.
I don't like the idea that we use the police to carry out punishments of people who haven't been found guilty in a court of law.

Bundy was found guilty of tax evasion. But then he called in his terrorist group to prevent him from being kicked off land and being hauled away.
I just want justice.
I don't want violence necessarily. But if welfare ranchers don't feel like they should pay taxes or if terrorists want to start something here, then they should meet the sword of Justice.

I haven't read anything that leads me to believe terrorism. Not the Hammonds, not the guys taking a building. It really feels like they had no hard evidence to prosecute for poaching, or covering up evidence that would have lead to a poaching ring, so they're gonna nail them on a technicality.
But these people shouldn't be taking a building, and each and every member of that "militia" should be tried for their involvement. If they wanted to do something, they should have showed up to court to contend that the fires set were safe, and there was no deer butchering happening in the area that was taken by flame. They did not.
There is no question that the Hammonds were unsafe with their fire, as they both served time for it. One man said he barely escaped with his life, jumping from 8-10 foot flames, which could be interpreted as attempted murder.If you believe there was a poaching ring happening at the Hammond ranch, they should serve jail time. Taking a building like this, for this, is in poor taste.

Just because these men are vets or Apache pilots doesn't mean they're not redneck idiots. The two are not mutually exclusive. I have more respect for the military than anyone but I have to say, a large portion (most?) of our men serving (no offense Gameface or anyone else) are complete idiots who had no other choice but to sign up after high school or signed up so they could kill someone. Let's not make it out to be 1941 where men better than you or I, across this great country, are signing up out of their sheer Patriotic duty, ready to be the next, last great generation. Many are, no doubt. But many, many, MANY aren't. They're signing up because they need to or out of some misguided notion of manhood and/or country.

Nope. They were convicted of arson, not terrorism. They were never charged with terrorism, I don't think the word was even mentioned during the trial.
