Hayward at the 4 this season?...LOL. Can't shoot well enough to spread the floor as a stretch-4, has no post game whatsoever, yeah that experiment should end pretty quickly.
Excuse me, but I'm not sure you saw the game. Neither team shot over 38%. Guys were missing wide open shots all game long, with exception to Korver, even Curry mised one or two wide open shots. However, part of Hayward's touch issues from last night could be due to putting on extra muscle mass, and I'd deffinetly looks as if he has done just that.My first impression is that Hayward looked huge; he's not a little kid anymore. My second impression is he is just not as good as the other guys out there and he missed a couple wide open shots. He was getting those wide open looks because his defender would leave him to help against some of the better offensive scorers. My overall impression is Hayward is trying to improve, but he just will not be a superstar worthy of the max contract he received.
In case you guys didn't know, Hayward finished with a line of 7/3/3…not too bad.

Manu was (is?) killer off the dribble. And a far better shooter than Hayward. I see him more in Burks (potentially) than I do in Hayward.Would poor man's (or early development stage) Manu be a good comp. for Hayward? I've always thought that he had that sort of game.

Recorded it and actually watched it twice. You Hayward guys are funny. Any slight criticism and the claws come out. Hayward is not one of the top 10 guys on the court. That should not be a newsflash and it shouldn't be earth shaking. He's not a super star we know that after last year. He may make the team now that Paul George is injured, but he will not play much. Now the fact that he put on so much muscle impressed me. I thought he was good defensively and thought he handled the ball okay, except for the time he drove to the basket and got the ball stolen. I'm just not sure what I said that makes you question whether I watched the game?
Read my post. Never said he was a superstar, but he definitely looked like he belonged. He's not there because he's a superstar. He's there because they are looking to build a team. They also had guys like Parsons Korver, and Plumlee, and I never said Hayward would or should get very many minutes if he makes the team. Was just pointing out that no one was making any open shots, so why single out Hayward.
Maybe the pro Hayward posters feel a need to defend him because so many of the so called jazz fans seem to root against him and take pleasure in his failure, almost like you root for it.
I think hayward has been getting bigger and bigger every year.Wonder how Hayward was able to put on noticeably more muscles than he was able to do all the years he'd been with the Jazz?
Does it have anything to do with his new wife discouraging him to play Starcraft and instead hitting the gym when he's free?
