2 votes for Enes Kanter....

Wow....

ESPN hacks basing off all their opinions off box scores and top 10 plays.

Gee, what a surprise.

Kinda reminds me of the year that they predicted the Jazz to be historically bad (03-04) and yet they were very competitive and other than the team from 07, the only Jazz team I've been able to watch and not vomit.

This Jazz team would be undefeated right now if they played with the energy, toughness, and unselfishness as that team. Arroyo looks like Stockton compared to Black Hole Jefferson or Skip to my Lou Harris.

Coach Corbin does not want Enes to take outside shots, he said it a couple of times. Enes will do majority of his work down low for now. He has a nice stroke and can hit 10-15 footers consistently. He seems to get too much involved in positioning for rebounds which gets him tired quickly. Having a deep roster at frontcourt makes it easier for the Jazz to adjust to that. Before anything like expanding the offensive repertoire, exploring a variety of spots to take shots, he first should adjust to NBA basketball. Not playing pro-level basketball nearly for two years is an obstacle but he has a work ethic which you cannot see in many of recently selected lottery bigs.

Those guys making way early observations just shows you how stupid ESPN and how worthless their young NBA maniac bloggers are. I'm really surprised that live game blogs on ESPN have such a big crowd online.

Utah and everything that goes with it has always been under rated and ignored. Works for me.

There are obvious exceptions but that is generally the case.

As someone who was VERY anti-Kanter, I guess I'm not all that anti anymore. He has no post moves, outside of the Jimmer style wardball jukes -- which have been stuffed, repeatedly -- and I've only heard rumor of his outside game. But he does have the "IT" factor. That is, he isn't a clodding lump of white **** like we normally get out of the darft. He has heart. He bangs and gets rebounds, despite his 2" vertical. I'm a fan.

My wife calls him ****** Koonter. Kind of a turn on, actually.
Kanter turns you on? I wish I didn't know that.

"He's going after every ball," Jefferson said of Kanter. "I hate guarding him because I've got to block him out, and it's hard because he's moving nonstop."

Though very raw still, Kanter has shown offensive moves in the past few games. His soft touch from the free-throw line suggests a mid-range game could be in his future arsenal.

"We're holding that back," Corbin joked. "He wants to make guys pay by trying to stop him in the paint, and he can certainly do that."

Utah's Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors are making their presence known in the paint.
Corbin doesn't mind at all if Kanter's jumpshots are introduced later, but he wants him doing damage down low for now.

"That's where big guys make their name in this league," the former 16-year NBA player said.

The soft-spoken rookie, who sat out last season at Kentucky, doesn't mind focusing on the dirty work now.

"I want to do just defense and rebound," Kanter said. "That's what coach tell me to do, just go touch every rebound and have a good defense, so I'm just trying to do my best … and that's what my teammates need."

James Herbert, HoopSpeak: Enes Kanter. For all of his skills, he has yet to make a field goal outside the restricted area. Although it was predictable that he'd struggle for minutes in the early going, I had hoped the No. 3 pick would flash more in his limited time.

This guy hasn't watched a game.
I've seen Kanter make shots outside of the restricted area.

Kanter is playing well for a player fresh off of a couple college years. But he's not, so when he catches up with his abilities, I'm sure we will all be pleased.

Even if they were going just from the stats, they should be able to recognise Kanter's REB/Min is at an elite level.

I love what Kanter's doing. He's aggressive, uses his width very well, is getting to the line where he's got a SWEET touch for a kid his size, and he seems like he's pretty smart about things out there.
