2011 draft.....

Let's wait until we see how he does in the Hoops Summit... and I think he won't be eligible until next year with the next freshman class in the US.[/QUote

Nope already declared. Not saying we should draft him, but he is the guy the scouts are starting to get excite about. Up to 16 in Ford's big board.

they should have a "Masters" game before the regular Hoops Summit game. Podkolzin would square off against Saer Sene.

He already declared as said earlier. He has a huge wingspan but I think he's only like.....6'9? He's incredibly athletic and would most likely be a great defender, but wouldn't he basically have to play in Favors spot? Obviously I've never seen him play, but I just don't see where he would fit in our rotation.

I'm too lazy to read this thread, but what are people's thoughts on Jonas Valancius? Is he basically Ante Tomic or what?

A lot of the "draft experts" have him as the 1st or 2nd highest ranked among the intl players. Problem with him is he apparently has a large buyout.

Well with a 7'7" wingspan and great athleticism sounds like he can play some center as well.

He's got a 9'3'' standing reach, so he could conceivably play the 5 (like Favors, who has a 9'2'' reach and loads of athleticism). Dude's absolutely ripped though. 243 lbs, 4.8% body fat.

Seeing that our 6th pick is pretty fluid at the moment as who we will pick (Barnes, Kanter, etc, etc)

Is there a consensus pick in this thread for our 12th pick?

I think it depends who we take at 6th. I think if we go big at 6th, we take a PG,SG,or SF at 12 and vice versa.

Bismarck sounds like he could be a mini Mutumbo :

DraftExpress (tweet): If ESPN had a camera at this scrimmage, Bismack Biyombo 's blocks and dunks would make up half of Sportcenter's Top-10 plays tonight.

yeah, no need to discuss 12th pick. Foregone conclusion: Jimmer.

I like Jimmer and that would be an interesting pick but it also makes me worry a little bit that with our 12th pick all we can get is a future undersized 2 guard who comes off the bench... (with Hayward now a lock at 2 and Jimmer definitely not a starting 1)

If Jimmer's available, the Jazz have to take him. The NBA is a business and Jimmer is probably worth a couple thousand season tickets (either new or in terms of retaining some that may otherwise not renew).
If Jimmer is gone, then I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jazz trade the rights to whoever they've drafted in a package for a veteran wing. Of course, that can't happen until after a new CBA is reached.
