What's new

2011 draft.....

We should rank bigs, wings and guards. Here, I'll start:

Bigs:
1) Kanter
2) Biyombo
3) Valanciunas
4) Montiejunas

Wings:
1) Williams
2) Jones
3) Vesely
4) Burks
5) Leonard

Small Guards:
1) Irving
2) Knight
3) Walker
4) Fredette
5) Jackson

Pretty sure these are the players in play for us in the draft.

We're on page 159 on posts about the draft and the lottery dosent even happen for 2.5 weeks. Is there such as thing as stupid questions at this point?

If Irving is available at #2 then I'd rather have 2& 12. If D will is available at #2 I'd rather have #3 and #7. But given the Jazz Luck I'm pretty sure it will be 9 & 12.

Not 9 and 14? Maybe they'll even let Indiana select before us.

Just watched some "highlights" of Valanciunas. How the hell is that guy a top prospect? He is horrible.

He is 18 for one thing playing in a pro league and men in their 20s and 30s. Secondly look at his numbers. Very impressive when you compute them to 40 minutes. Also it would be hilarious to see Harpring try to pronoune his name.

He has terrible hands and can't finish. Plus who do you play him in front of? Sap Favors or Jefferson?

Good point on Harp

(On the video of BB above) He's easily the biggest player on the floor during most of that. But his aggression is definitely notable. The guy plays like a smaller Dwight for sure. Well worth the 12th pick.

Cant finish? I admit I have not really seen the clips yet, but how does he have a 70% FG then?
I watched Locke's breakdown of his game, and yeah, Jan does seem to have weak hands as far as finesse goes. And that one play Locke was drooling about? Likely a travel in the NBA. I really am NOT that impressed with Vesely besides his enthusiasm and energy.

I'd put up some money that (barring injury) BB won't be there at 12. No way.

Will he be there at 6?

I'm falling for in love - I think I might want him at 3.

He's 3rd on my board. I'd have no problem with that.
I realize I'm smitten with "potential", but, seriously, that kid has RARE abilities. Damn.

Well, I like Kanter but the Jazz already have a scoring big in Jefferson. And it's not like that's uncommon, whereas you summized: Bismack is a much more rare commodity.

It's fair that we are all having a crush on Bis, but let's be honest this is because this draft is so weak.

We really have no shot at anyone that exciting at 6. Kanter is gone then.
Bismack might not even be there. Bismack would be exciting as hell to think about over the summer, but damn what a long shot to really pan
out for a top 6 pick don't you think?
