2011 draft.....

You beat me to it Numb, but this obsession with the mythical 2012 Draft class makes me laugh. 70% of you haven't even seen anyone in this draft class play a single half of basketball but are willing to tell us all their weaknesses. Now you're trying to tell me you know the Austin Rivers, Millers, McAdoo's and Gilchrist's of the worlds games inside and out and they are basically unicorns or the basketball world?

By the sound of it the basketball world will never be the same after 2012.....they'll have to raise the hoop to 12'. If Draftexpress told you I was a lockdown defender and had a good jumpshot most of you would take it for gospel and have a thread dedicated to taking Bodhi at 3.

Also, am I the only one that thinks this year's draft class is a lot better than advertised?

Perhaps we should wait to see some of these players play before we get ready for the 2012 draft.

/BTW, no player scares me more than Austin Rivers. Average athleticism, average height and frame and streaky shot do not make a good player. He has the benefit of a great first step and probably the best coaching that anybody in that high school class has had. He's good, but I don't know if he's super-star good. Possibly a Gilbert Arenas type....but like I said, who knows. Lets let them play a year or two.

Take it from a guy that knows, not all frames are created equal (see Evans, Jeremy). Considering that this guy is widely purported to blow off huge parts of the game and the preparation around it, that makes it all the more concerning.

KD's body isn't far off from Evans or is it?

Think the NBA can change that. NBA teams as we know invest a lot more time and staff in the physical conditioning of players. Dont get me wrong I am not all gung ho about drafting him though. But if we do go with Knight or Walker we got to look at him.

Physical conditioning cannot change frame. Evans can kill himself all day long on the weights and eat an entire cow every night and he is never going to put on 50 pounds of muscle (which I'm pretty sure would put him around 230), notwithstanding that it would probably slow him down. Also, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. If Motiejunas didn't and doesn't have the drive now, why would that change now making a guaranteed $5 million?

I am assuming you are talking about Motiejunas and I did listen to the interview where the reporter compared him to sabonis, stupid comparison. I think he is in the area of fes, tomic, or any euro. The love the attention but aren't gym rats. They have a ton of talent but don't work real hard on it.

I'm willing to bet everything I have though he's not 230. No way.

I think you're ignoring how much weight can be in your legs. He was measured at 215 at the draft combine (which for a lot of people is about as light as they'll ever be in the NBA) and I know he's put on weight since then.

I like this draft more than last year's. For example, I like Irving as much or more than Wall. I like Kanter as much or more than Cousins. I like Knight more than Wesley Johnson. I like Derrick Williams way more than Turner. I like Biyombo more than Greg Monroe. Etc. Plus, the middle of the first round is pretty strong.

No, I'm not ignoring that. Dude has no shoulders and skinny legs

I don't know what you're looking at, I see legs with some nice girth, stretched over a giant. 215 at the draft combine, 4 years ago. Putting on 15 pounds is totally believable.
