What's new

2011 draft.....

I think everyone agrees that Biyombo has absolutely no offensive skills. His free throw form makes Shaq's form look like Jerry West. The dude may have arms down to the floor, but where is he going to play? He can't hold Big Al's jock.

I am not sold on taking Biyombo at 3 yet but I would definitely love him at 12. I don't think he gets pass Detroit. My biggest problem with Biyombo is, can he develop some offensive game. What I saw of him I think he has some athletcism to get by guys and he seemed to have good hands. Perhaps if he could develop a jump hook or a jump shot then I would be more excited about him.

I like him a lot but I just don't know if I would take him at 3.

Now a few mocks are claiming Kanter might go 1, Williams 2, Irving 3...

This draft is up in the air - should be fun...

I think it depends on how you define offensive game. Does Tyson Chandler have an offensive game? I think I am good if he can crash the offensive boards and got put-back dunks, which he seems to be capable of. But I still don't take him at 3. 12 is perfect.

I would be absolutely stunned (and thrilled) if the Cavs pick Kanter at #1. They might just be convinced that Baron Davis can still ball or he is 100% untradeable. Either way, they would be stupid to pick such a big unknown at #1.

And the Jazz would get a freaking steal and could get on the phone to ship Harris out.

Well, they probably hope that DWILL is taken 2nd or 3rd leaving Knight to them at 4.

Eurocamp about to start. Unfortunately none of the big names will actually be playing in the games. Neither JV will be there at all. Wonder if they are headed stateside now. However, if we end up with a second round pick for some reason could be some interesting players there such as Noriega, Lauvergne, Zubcic, and Radosevic.

Jonas V. is with his U19 national team so he has an excuse. They must be pretty confident that he is going to go in the lottery.

Yeah, that's where Tyler's likely to go. He might jump into the 20s, but I'm comfortable he'll be there at 18 (I think).
Pick 34? I think it's very questionable he falls that far, no matter what the mocks say now.
And are the guys at 18 that much better than those at 34 that you don't mind losing the Tyler gamble? I mean, there's still some quality guys to grab @ 34 - Butler, maybe Bertans, a few decent PGs, some people really like Chandler Parsons and he'll definitely still be there.

I mean, I guess @ 18 you might prefer to take a gamble on Brooks - if he's still there. People like Singleton and maybe he falls to 18 but I doubt it - his hype is infectious. But I'd rather gamble on Brooks before Singleton anyway. And I'd probably still reach for Tyler before Brooks. But maybe not. I dunno.

All this speculation is supposing the Jazz trade with Washington which may not happen, but this is fun anyway. It gives us some new stuff to discuss. I love fiction.

If I am O'Conner, I have a trade with Washington in place if Knight falls to them at 6. We take Kanter at 3 and trade him to Washington, if Knight falls to 6th. If not the trade is off, and we keep Kanter. We pick up their 6 and 18 pick. Take Knight at 6, Singleton at 12 and Tyler at 18. I would love that draft.

If the trade does not happen, then I could live with Kanter at power forward and move Favors to center. I still want Singleton at 12, but if he is gone I could live with the Jimmer.
