2011 draft.....

Yeah, the DX guy Givony actually thinks he put on to much weight. The picture I saw of him is quite a difference from the ones a couple of years ago.

Did it slow him down considerably? That's the only way I could think that you could put on too much weight (from a muscle perspective, not Oliver Miller perspective).

Taken from the first meeting in the war room today to discuss the draft. Looks like Ty has definitely found somebody he likes.

Montiejunas looked quicker, stronger and in much better shape in his workout. He did also look exhausted. Air-balling shots by a few feet is a sign of fatigue.

We're lucky to have landed the third pick - the drop-off in talent after Irving, Williams, Kanter & Knight is significant, IMO.

Read the last couple of pages, here are my thoughts:

Monti looks bigger--does anyone know his current weight? Seeing what I have I could not pass him at 12 even with Jimmer on the board. Unless the #3 pick is Jonas Valuncunias or Vesey at which case I think the ESA insurer/ underwriter will step in and force the Millers to draft Jimmer over Monti just to prevent the fans from burning the place down.

Who took that picture of Ty Corbin? Is that really from the big war room pow-wow they had after coming back from Europe? He looks tired, he's starting to look like Jerry. Too much traveling? I see Moma made it to the big meeting, she didn't travel with the scouts did she? If you can get a picture out of the war-room from cell phone why not get one of the draft board? I PROMISE if it was posted on Jazzfanz I wouldn't tell the other teams about it.

Are we really such a pathetic team that we are looking forward to next years draft already? Are we now Golden State or Toronto? I think things will turn around, I think the Jazz will get a vetran wing. I have hope that one of the principal reasons why NBA players annually ranked Utah as the last destination of choice was because of Jerry and his old school rules ie no head bands, no cards, no headphones, no pillowforts etc. Now that Ty is here FA's will be calling the Jazz on July 1st, players will be demanding trades TO the jazz.

Go Jazz.

I looked at that Ty pic again....OMG how in the world did that photo get out? Really it would shock me less to see a picture of the Jazz's draft board. Did Greg take that?

2nd Edit:

Greg did in fact take that picture and 2 others. I appreciate his wanting to share some behind the scenes insight, but that photo is just unfortunate. KOC wasn't as happy as coach Ty, was he? https://twitter.com/#!/GregInUtah

Monti did not get measured at eurocamp. Draftexpress listed all eurocamp measurements and he wasn't on their list. Maybe for individual teams?

I don't think this is a bad draft, just not any stars. Lots of guys who could be the 10-15 player on a regular NBA roster--or a regular rotation player for the Utah Jazz.

There are too many tempting yet imperfect players in this draft. And the safer ones have a lower ceiling. So I've been looking at prospects and looking at prospects and looking at prospects and now I'm going a little crosseyed. While I find myself favoring certain players over others ultimately I'm pretty flummoxed. I gotta just trust KOC. He knows better than I do.

But if he chooses one of the guys I haven't fallen in love with then I'll demand his head.

I actually don't think Montalekrjekrnelrkejre is going to be a bust....

I'm just not sure if he's ever really going to be that good... Wang Zuzu anyone? Maybe Matt Bonner?

Perhaps the best case scenario would be Memo?
