2011 Dunk Contest

So is the FT line and Ibaka did that in the 1st round, albeit not high enough to clear the height of the car.

Griffin won because his skit was the best, he had the crowd behind him, and he was the biggest star of the group. Not because his dunk was the most impressive. Hell some of his in game dunks were better than the car dunk.

That 360 dunk had some power to it, and he got height that was crazy. But all of the contestants had some pretty good dunks. As far as the car dunk goes, it has become de rigueur to use some gimmicky prop in at least a few dunks. That was pure show and we all knew it. In fact all in all it was a pretty good show.

Made me think of the dunk contest in NBA Live 05.

Only watched the highlights on ESPN. After last year, I decided that I am never watching these things again.

I know. That was my point. You'd have to clear the car before even dunking the ball and then, again on the way down, clear it again.

I thought the first couple rounds were great, although the numerous missed dunks is distracting. McGee's two rim dunk was great, when he finally did it. DeRozan's dunk was phenomenal, too. The finals were anticlimatic.

There are a ton of good playground dunkers, but that's all these guys practice all day long. They'd put the NBA guys to bed.

Justin Darlington is pretty good.

Guys like James White would do well to learn from the Jeremy Evans of the world. Be nice and provide hustle and you can probably stick in the NBA for while just based off being a freak. But when you have a cocky persona and tend to fall asleep on the court, you don't have a chance.
