What's new

2013 Chicago Combine May 15-19

Not sure why Schroeder opted out of action today. I mean what's the point of being here then?

Might be good for us though.. hopefully he slips..

Interviews and athletic measuring, both of which are probably more important than the actual drills.

Bongo hasn't helped himself, but I don't think going 5/25 has really hurt him either. He is only 2 months removed from having his normal year of bad 3pt shooting, so you can't really expect any kind of vast improvement at this point. His value will come out more in team workouts where he can compete in more of a game type setting.

So the players are being interviewed by different teams, but there is no official list available. However as the players talk with the media they are telling the teams they are interviewing with. And to my dismay NO-ONE has mentioned Utah. Sigh.

Regarding interviews, I thought this was interesting:

Jason Quick @jwquick San Diego St. SG Jamaal Franklin met with the Blazers yesterday, and the whole meeting consisted of a psychological test taken on a computer.

Franklin measured an amazin 6-11 wingspan and is supposed to be catching alot of attention.

Figured averaging 9.4 rebounds a game he would be a bit of a freak. He could be the shooting guard version of his ex teammate Leonard. Both have insane wingspans for their size, rebounded like power forwards, and couldn't hit the three (in college).

Adams
6'10.75" (barefoot) 7' (shoes)
7'4.5" (wingspan) 9'1.5" (reach)

About what we expected for him, a little weak on the reach.

A couple more. Burke measuring on the high end, probably secures him as a top 5 pick

Trey Burke. 5'11.75" in socks. 6'1.25" shoes. 6'5.5" wingspan.
CJ McCollum 6'2.25" in socks. 6'3.25" shoes. 6'6.25" wingspan.

Yeah short reach then expected. Suposedly he did very well in the shooting drills. Trying to find some footage

Lol at Burke wearing shoes that make him 1.5 inches taller so he can crack the 6'1 barrier. Not his game shoes.

The good news about PG's is it seems that recently they have been slipping as teams reach for that guy with potential. I think a really solid PG slips to us at #14.
