2014 College Football

No, State is legit this year.

This is the 1st year Rick Ray has a full roster of scholarship players.

1st year we have more than 1 person over 6'8.

Trust me, we going to surprise the SEC.
Okay

Just like trust you, like how State is gonna roll Ole Miss and be in the 4 team playoff?

8-4. good season, especially with Travis Wilson under center.

Actually i think the utes had a GREAT season.

Byu finishes 8-4 as well and had a somewhat disappointing season. With all the injuries that byu had to deal with, it ended up not being as bad as i thought it might be. Good win today against a pac12 team on thier field with them fighting hard to get to bowl elligible. I think that cal's qb set a school record for td's in a season iirc. Crazy that byu won the game with a goal line stand at the end of the game. (considering byu's defense has sucked all year)

Interesting, since the game went final in Mississippi Cy hasn't been seen in this thread. Can't say I blame him based on all the smack he's been talking, I'd be ticked off too if my team let me down like that. Miss St. still has had a great year, and even if they don't get in the CFP, they've made a statement this year.

My Utes pulled out an ugly game in Colorado, thank heaven. Would have been really embarrassing to be the Buffs only PAC12 win of the season. Maybe we'll still be ranked, but for sure we are going bowling. PLUS, the Utes totally outperformed my expectations for them this year based on SOS and W-L record. Maybe with some decent balanced offense next season we can compete for a PAC12 south/conference title. Who knows?

Overall,it was a very good season for Utah and MSST even though CY continually was trash talking. I think every Ute fan feels good about an 8-4 record going into a bowl game. Now we just need to try to get a bowl win and figure out our offense and QB situation for next year. Wilson is not the answer.

I completely agree. We won some really close games. We beat Michigan, UCLA, USC, and Stanford all in the same year. The only frustrating thing is to imagine what this team could have accomplished with a confident and talented quarterback. This good year could have been a special year (as has been said in many Ute circles). I wonder if Whit will have the cajones to open up the QB competition next year. Travis will be back, KT should be back, then we'll have Manning, Cox, and isn't the Isom kid gonna be around as well? Could be really interesting (and super frustrating as well) to see who wins the job next season.

My worry is Christiensen bails due to Whitt's meddling. Whitt needs to get the hell outta the offense and let Christiensen go all in on the spread with a mobile QB. That means no Wilson and possibly no Connor Manning but with Thompson coming back, Cox, Isom, and the Wyoming transfer (if he stays at QB) should give Utah enough viable options.

While it would have been embarrassing to lose to Colorado, Wilson throwing for 300+ yards in a road win may be enough for Whitt to trick himself into thinking they've righted the ship. It terrifies me.

Agreed. In other news, Mariota and Oregon are tearing Oregon State a new *******. Mariota going into beast mode early.

I thought Thompsen was one of those 5th year transfers?
