2014 Draft Combine

Sir Charles, too was kinda overlooked for his size.
Wasn't that a failure in hindsight?
Maybe we will say the same stuff for Randle like 10 years later?

add-on:
of course there is a probability that he may end up being a new edition of OSU's Byron Houston, who was a highly-touted power forward in the NCAA, who was in combine discovered to be a real midget.

The thing is Randle has official measurements from AAU Camps

6'9"
6'10"
6'9"

I agree. He is a warrior. He just simply won't back down. I'd take fight & heart over talent any day of the week.

#Hungry

Not a good idea.

I could have loads of heart and talent but it would be very unwise to build a franchise around me.

It's when you're comparing 2 similar players, i.e., Randle VS Vonleh, people here are saying Vonleh has the bigger upside, but I'm taking the guy with heart and fight in Randle over Vonleh every single time.

Fair enough.
And i agree

Julius Randle on not skipping NBA Combine: "I'm a competitor. I like to see how I stack up against other people."

Gary Harris and Elfrid Payton aren't participating in drills

that's a joke. The only reason he's participating is because a good showing will propel his stock. The main questions of his are his athleticism, and measurements-- he has every reason to try and have a great showing at the combine.

Meanwhile, these exact things are already expectations for the top 4 mocked players-- so anything other than a perfect showing will drop their stock.

I guess PG_AB was right about Vonleh after all...

Freakish measurements for Noah Vonleh. 6'8" w/o shoes. 7'4.75 wingspan (+8.75"!) Hand length of 11.75" is 2nd all time to Greg Smith's 12.0"

Still like Randle's fight more though.

if we fall, draft Vonleh & call it a day. I wont even be that mad.

Aaron Falk @tribjazz
The Jazz contingent: Dennis Lindsey, Walt Perrin, Jerry Sloan, Kevin O'Connor, David Fredman, Richard Smith & Bart Taylor.

... but is he a bit undersized for a SG???

Kobe Bryant - 6'6
Alec Burks - 6'6
Dwyane Wade - 6'4
Tony Allen - 6'4
Lance Stephenson - 6'5
James Harden - 6'5

I'm gonna go with no. He is fine as a SG height wise.

Sean Deveney @SeanDeveney
For what it is worth, NBA has Dante Exum in with the shooting guards here at #NBACombine. He can play some point but projects as a 2 guard.

How happy would you all be with drafting Exum and playing him at SG?

i think burks is a better shooting guard.

Exum could be that sixth man though

It would give Alec more time to continue developing by watching from the bench.

We have a core of 5 people. They play all 5 positions. Someone is going to have to go or be traded.

Hayward will be back.
