2014 NBA Finals

Lots of people still bashing the Spurs and crying about these finals online.

It seems like a lot of people still think that OKC would have been a better matchup. I don't get it.

The Spurs haven't been boring for years. If you like good bball and offense, the Spurs are your team!
These Finals are awesome. 4th quarter Danny Green explosions and Lebron cramping?!
Most Finals suck (OKC vs Mia sucked. As did all the LAL shaq/Kobe Finals in the 2000s where they killed the EC champ).
It's the old guard vs new guard. Duncan was arguably the BP in his era. Lebron is clearly the BP of his. SA's Big 3 vs the Big 3 from Miami

Take LBJ out of Miami and they are first round fodder. Take any player out of the Spurs and they are still WC finalists. That's the difference.

I laugh at heat as excuse for Miami. Like Spurs played in different conditions. If anybody to blame is Heat's medical staff for not rehydrating their players properly and coach for not managing LBJ's minutes.
Would like to hear what Karl would say about this....

"It was right in my wheelhouse," Ray Allen said.

"I don't care. I'm from Texas, man. We couldn't afford air conditioning in high school," Chris Bosh said. ( ok primadona, I will give you 1% of respect back for that)
"It reminded me of the days at Cameron Indoor at Duke before they got AC," Shane Battier said.

"It felt like I was playing in the European Championship. We never have AC in Europe so it didn't bother me at all," Tony Parker said.

Who said heat was an excuse? Lebron not playing is the biggest factor in the loss. Whether that's his fault, coaches or trainers, I'm not sure, but both teams were dealing with the heat.

Didn't Parker sit out for a few mins late in the 4th?

Part of me wonders if an athletic freak like Lebron cramps up because he extends his body so much. I mean, he's so big and fast, those muscles are working hard to move his 6 foot 9 frame so fast.

On the other hand, Westbrook uses at least as much energy and never seems to cramp up...

Lebron and Russell are the 2 players who use the most energy and put the most stress on their body that I've ever seen. The only exception might be Allen Iverson and DRose (and we all see how that has taken a toll).

I wonder about that too. Lebron was measured at 6'9" 267 before the 2012 Olympics. Never has a player so big been asked to do so much. Perhaps it's just too much sometimes, especially in 90 degree heat.

Pretty sure Spurs would not win the west without Tony Parker. Perhaps Manu and Duncan as well, but definitely not without Parker.

But they are a deeper and more balanced team, yes.

in shoes.

bron's playing weight right now definitely under 260lb. if i have to guess it's probably around 255lb. his 1st year as a heat, he probably played at 260lb. he got too big. it was noticeable.

Had no problems winning elimination game vs Thunder though....And I said finalists meaning they would play in WC finals, not obviously winning it.

I was thinking 256. But to each his own.

Not really? This is the east we are talking about. Who is going to dominate Ray Allen, Chris Bosh and Wade to make them first round fodder? Charlotte? Indy? Atlanta? Chicago? This is the East not the West.

Also go Spurs...

No one has brought this up...

Duncan 9-10 FG

that's impressive against the Bucks let alone in the finals against the Heat.

That's got to be a record for the finals. I've never heard of someone playing big mins and batting .900

I don't think even Shaq did that in a finals game and all of his shots came within 5 FT of the rim.

Indiana, Chicago ( with Rose), Toronto, Brooklyn, Washington would dismantle Heat without LBJ in 5-6 games. Charlotte and Atlanta would be close series.

almost always players drink gatorade in the sideline doe

Think about the taste of sweat. That is what you are losing from your body when you sweat. Gatorade does not replace the large amount of salt you excrete when you sweat. You should always pair gatorade with something really salty.

Yeah Duncan hit a record with that stat. He's one of 3 players in NBA finals history to score 20 and 10 on 90% shooting, the other two being Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell.

So you think. That's pure opinion.

Also Wade wore "Stockton to Malone" socks to the arena yesterday lol. Nice Wade!

Well no one knows and will know so I don't really care. Why do you overlook the seven game 1st round series doe?
