You know, I remember the days when jazz fans knew how limited a box score was. We all knew John Stockton did so much more than what was captured. We all watched him instigate actions which led to a flaw in the defense, and then watched our system propagate that flaw... picking up easy buckets. If the NBA tracked "hockey assists", Stockton would be the all-time leader. Parker makes his whole machine GO. Lillard isn't having nearly the same impact, and he's mostly helpless when it comes to stopping Parker from doing exactly what he wants.
Before the last game, Portland had led for a total of 33 seconds over the entire series........ so, why should I care very much about Lillard's box score?
