This spurs team couldn't even beat the previous spurs championship teams. In particular, the ones with the Twin Towers. Those 2 teams lacked playmaking but were impossible to score on.
Let alone all time great teams like the Showtime lakers.
Some people are just stupid.
The 97-98 jazz and all of michael's Bulls teams would romp the top 3-4 teams in the playoffs this year.
Although, the Heat would have been problematic... Bruss vs Lebron and Hornacek vs Wade... Yikes.
Jazz would sweep or go 4-1 against the Thunder. Malone would pancake and foul out Serge protector.

Let's also not forget the Shaq/Kobe lakers. They would kill anyone other than maybe the Spurs right now.
They would sweep the Heat and thunder IMO. At least 6 games against the Spurs just because Pops is so damn smart and would expose shaq's P&R defense, sugar K could give mamba trouble, and Timmy is Timmy (he's superman's kryptonite).
Shaq would murder Birdman, Bosh, and Haslem for at least 50 and 20 per game. He would crush OKC's front line. He'd toss Adams and serge protector around like he did Vlade, Sabonis, and Scott Pollard.

Or they could keep trying to get better and be thankful they are a team that can make them eastern conference finals.
They lost to the champs who have the best player.

how about getting better by blowing the team up?
if they keep the same core then this will happen every darn year

That's just really dumb. I'm thought you were an expert on basketball history? ?
If you were then you would know how hard it is to build a championship team, especially with all the salary cap restrictions.
It's a young team. They lost to the best team. There is only one Lebron.
They need to just retool and keep trying. Maybe make some minor adjustments or additions. You don't blow the thing up.
How much money has Stephenson lost for his next contract with all this negative attention he has brought on himself?
I wonder if they are going to make a run at Hayward since it appears they might not want to bring Stephenson back.
No need to "blow up" the team though. Think they will need to find an athletic front-court player to compliment the slow Hibbert and aging West.
history says indiana pacers will always be a 2nd fiddle. this crap will happen every darn year. history says, they will be good, but not good enough. i'll be so tired of that crap. i'm ready to try new. i don't know their cap situation. but i know hill is overpaid like crazy. i know i have to pay george. i know stephenson is due.
here is what i would do
1. i try whatever it takes to get a point guard. you gotta do something.
2. george hill and stephenson won't get me anything. i trade both. if i lose money, i lose money. those 2 guys aren't the answer. and i'm not overpaying for a guy who might turn into ron artest
3. i'm stuck with hibbert, but at least i know he can be a factor. i try getting a tough minded coach not a player's coach. somebody who will get a lot out of hibbert.
4. get rid of scola. houston or spurs would take him
just do something. build a team around the new point guard, hibbert, and george. east is still weak, so there is a fighting chance.
of course, there will be 30 nba GMs who would take westbrook. duh.
all i said was i would rather be my point guard to play like a point guard.
