2015 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

honestly, Leonard might start on my all-time team. He'd be the 5th option on offense, but the best perimeter defender on either team. He's special.

I just told you, they didn't like him as sixth man and that was after he just won Finals MVP.

We're a year, and a defensive player of the year, later. It's about building a team correctly. Not about packing it with the biggest names. But again, it is my opinion, and others might see it your way.

There's someone who knows what he's talking about.

I guess you didn't read my post, I said I'm just giving you a hard time.

I do like Leonard as your 5th option, but at the same time, I do think it was a little high.

I needed to pick my SF. He was the best option available. I thought about a certain 70s SF who is a good shooter and a great player all around. But Leonard's defense and versatility trumps that. It's about my current needs. I wouldn't start picking bench players to supplement Iverson before picking my starting SF.

And I know you're just giving me a hard time, but it is fun to actually discuss the merits of our picks and teams.

Of course everyone is going to hype their team up right now, let's wait and see the matchups.

Not if everybody is going to say their team has no flaws or they have the perfect team. They are your picks and you are supposed to like them, but every team will have some flaws. If people are going to use rose-colored glasses when they talk about their team then it's no fun.

My team has elite defense, but spacing issues for the modern game. Feel better?

Also 4 of the most dominant players of the Golden 90's. :)

I think that both Jordan and Payton would have adjusted just fine to modern offenses.

I am not making **** up to hype my team. I am giving an honest analysis of why I picked the players I picked, while offering a refutation to your critique. It's not like I answered your solid facts with spurious fanboiism. It is the opposite. I offered a detailed defense of my pick even though your critique was mostly about elevating your team by dismissing mine (people don't like him too much was your attack).

I don't like Bryant either, but I can appreciate his value in this thing. That's not my issue with your backcourt, but I won't voice my concerns yet. There's still a lot of picks left to be made and you might solve it before we're through.

While doing this all time draft. How would u rank the talent from each era? I'd have to think we mostly agree the 90's was the best for the NBA.

Agreed. Which is funny, because last year I was almost exclusively 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Drafted two current players and think it actually hurt me a bit.

Sorry guys I woke up in a ****ty mood. Disregard anything that I said.

Siri your team is nice, only thing I will say is I thought it was a bit of a reach, but a good pick nonetheless. Good defenders are hard to come by.

Ellis your team is nice as well, just a lack of three point shooting I would say.

As far as the eras I think it goes 90's, 80's, 00's, 70's, 10's, 60's in that order. Jury is still out on the 10's because we're only 5 years in.

Argh. I was afraid someone would finally discover my true identity.

So, What can I help you with?

4th best after 90s, 00s, and 80s.

This ^^^

Although I will admit that I do LOVE some of the 70's guys. Not the era so much. . . but a couple of the players are extremely high on my list.

I wait until I see who my first pick is, and then build around them. Started with Magic and got Ewing and Dominique to try to build a "Dream Team" era squad. Got the opportunity to trade for Moses Malone and realized that I had a chance to do something unique. . . so I started to put together a "What if the Jazz had never signed Gail Goodrich?

Ewing was miscast, but I ended up with Moses Malone, Dominique Wilkins, Pistol Pete Maravich and Magic Johnson. Outside of two modern players, the rest of my team was made up of old school Hall of Famers. I should have committed to that vision and drafted two more (I know exactly the two I should have gotten) and I think I'd have fared better. Also probably should have tried to flip Ewing for a different center, but I'd have given up huge value to do so.
