Green isn't even an offensive "option". He is just a really good player who knows his role and happens to be a phenomenal passer for his position and can defend nearly any NBA player at a high level.
 
Carmelo is a better shooter than Draymond.


That's really all there is.

I'd take Draymond over Melo. But I would rather have an elite defensive guy who isn't as talented offensively, but is a great passer, rebounder, etc.. over a guy who doesn't do anything but ball stop and shoot the ball.

Defense is pretty awesome and wins games.

I remember arguing with NAOS about this exact thing, and he thought he'd challenge me and say who I thought was gonna win it all this year. I told him Golden State because the added Draymond Green. He then flopped around and try to make fun of me for saying they "added" him. He apparently didn't like the choice of words I guess. But whatever, not really the point. The point is that it was predictable that they'd would and could go the distance. Just like it's predictable that if you headline Melo on a team, he'll sink your ship. Kinda like what Al Jefferson does. This is not guessing. This is science.
 
Klay got 15.8 ppg on 14.7 shots.

Green had 13 ppg on 10.8 shots.

Green rebounded, assisted, stole, and blocked his *** off. Not to mention nearly 6 FTA per game

Thompson barely got rebounds or assist and hardly got to the foul line

Whatever. I still think Carmelo > Draymond.
