2015 NBA Playoffs

It's not a myth. Players do better with more playoff experience.

Leonard had 35 games started in the playoffs before entering last years playoffs, so idk what you mean by not having a lot of playoff experience.
I disagree with you

I think good players are good. Did people think that when kyrie stepped on the court in his first playoff game that he would suddenly forget how to shoot and dribble? I didn't. Kyrie is a fantastic scorer. I expect him to continue to be a fantastic scorer even in the playoffs without any experience.

If the jazz make the playoffs next year then I expect Rudy to play good defense and rebound well in the playoffs, and I expect hood to be a good shooter...... And I expect exum to look scared on offense and not take many shots. I don't think players change who they are and what they are good at when they get into the playoffs for the first time

Why haven't we seen any super-stars win it all in their 1st year in the PO yet?

Cause thier teams were not good enough probably.

Definitely need a good all around team and a good coach.
Winning championships is hard

Were you shocked that kyrie Irving scored lots of points today?

No. A playoff series isn't 1 game. A playoff series isn't vs. a team that has a losing record.
So neither of us was shocked by his performance in his first game. That's why I commented that I thought it was strange that the announcers acted like it was unbelievable and unprecedented.
I guess they have to over dramatize things though. That's what they get paid to do.

Because it was fairly unprecedented. I think he had a top 10 scoring performance of anyone's first playoff game.

These playoffs frustrate me in a way previous ones the Jazz missed didn't.

Jazz would have a great to reasonable chance to beat Boston, Dallas, Toronto, Washington, Brooklyn, Portland, New Orleans and Milwuakee in a seven game series.

Grrrrr!!!

Playoff basketball isn't about stats though. It''s about making the plays that win high pressure basketball games. That is where Irving's lack of experience will be tested. That won't happen for a while because he plays in a bad conference.

I think Irving will be fine. He seems like he got that it.

I think what Fish should be saying is, of course playoff experience can help if you are giving it to players worth developing. Back when it was being argued whether or not we should go for the playoffs with Big Al and Company or tank, the idea was we were getting playoff experience for our group of players. Which was a waste of time because Al wasn't worth it. And we should have been tanking to get something that is more valuable, and that is talent.

Even though I don't like the Clippers or Rockets, I'd rather see them win than the Spurs. Just rather see someone new get a ring.

Pierce looks like he's making a good contribution to this Wizards team, mentoring Wall, Beal, Porter. These young guys are growing up fast.

....I watched the end of this game, thinking that NBA Playoff basketball would be FANTASTIC this year! I'm watching this clown for the Raptors hit a 3 pointer with over 20 seconds to go in the game to tie the score...and he goes into a "celebration" of sorts like he's just won the NBA championship! I saying outloud, "what is this guy celebrating about?" He didn't win the game....just tied it....and there was over 20 seconds on the clock left for the other team to score! Well, the game goes into overtime and the Raptors get beat...at home...despite the shimmy and shaking of the clown that tied the game with his 3 pointer! Being the box score man that I am, I'm checking the box score for this game and come to find out that the Wizard starting guards shot a combined 11-41 from the field.....and the Wizards won the game! There guards missed THIRTY shots...and they still won the game! NBA Playoff basketball....it's FANTASTIC!

Not me. I love watching the Spurs play. Their ball movement is just a joy to watch.

I also agree with catch, the Spurs have clearly lost a step. Man Parker and Ginobli look slow. Actually think the clippers are going to win this Spurs look so slow

So Durant wins the scoring title just about every year. Then he goes out and Westbrook wins it with Harden just a hair behind.

Imagine if those three had stayed together.

...would have scored a lot of points, but none of those guys plays much, if any defense!

The Jazz's big three will be Gobert, Hayward and hopefully Exum. Those are the guys with the talent to define the game.

Imagine if Michael Jordan didn't exist... how many titles would the Jazz have won?

Imagine....

...imagine if Jordan did exist...but the Jazz had a second year man like Anthony Davis to go with Stockton and Malone? The Jazz would have won 70 games a year and beat the Bull's both times WITH Jordan!
