2016-17 Hype Train Playoff Chase!!!

I would be shocked if Rudy didn't play. I assumed he was being rested for this game. I doubt he gets misses this game for sore legs. Jazz seemingly decided to take a scheduled loss against OKC.

This is a must win for home court advantage. Probably our first must win of the season for anything. We also can't get swept in the regular season by the clippers and expect to beat them in the playoffs.

Yeah, this game is going to set my expectations for the Jazz playoff run. This is an actual "must-win" game. I really hope the team comes out looking like it matters to them.

If they lose this game then the only way they get home court is to outplay the Clips for the remainder of the season and hope they finish ahead of them in the standings./CaptainObvious

With no Favors, I'm wondering if we maintain seed 4 even if we beat the Clips here. Our schedule is pretty brutal from here on out. Two Spurs games and the Dubs, fighting for playoff positions? And the Blazers are as well. Not going to be a cakewalk. If we slide to 5 or 6 I'll still be pretty happy overall. We'd be thrilled with that prognostication at the outset of the season. Too bad the injuries just never let us have a break. Favors wasn't right all season, nor will he be. Blah.

No gamethread, so I'll make my prediction here: Jazz 103, Clippers 110. As promising as this season has been, we're brought back to reality...we are still the Clippers' bitches.

yeah missing favors is bad. favors on 1 leg is still quite effective as a player.

worrisome how often he has been injured though. Hope he gets better asap.

Wow, you got to love how Jazz stepped up in the biggest game of the season. Clippers played well and were shooting hot and we were missing Favors against a team we could have used him in. The two biggest games of the season so far were this and the rockets game and we won both. These two wins give me a lot of hope for the playoffs and show we can step up and play even better when needed.

Still very unlikely but if we can get past the clippers in the first round we could luck out and face Ws that might not have Durant and/or Spurs without Aldridge and make it to the finals where we would have a chance.

Jazz with the massive win last night. You could tell the narrative of the cool, collected, battle hardened Clippers fell apart last night in crunch time. They started taking cheap shots/fouls at Gobert and crying to the refs. They threw their best haymaker at Utah and the Jazz took it and gave it right back and it knocked them on their heels. Now they know they are in a dog fight come playoffs.

GO JAZZ!!!

Also Memphis and the Spurs won. The Spurs are now tied with the Warriors and hold the tie breaker. This means the Spurs are the #1 seed. Jazz at #4 sounds perfect. Clippers in the 1st, Spurs in the 2nd and Warriors in the WCFs.

Tonight's games:

Thunder @ Nets
Sixers @ Warriors

3 nationally televised games to finish out the final stretch. ESPN, TNT, and ABC. 4 if you count NBAtv.

Im not sure who are bigger babies. The warriors or clips???!

You left out, "and Cavs in the finals". :)

The hobbled Warriors will lose in the first round. Westbrook beats Harden. Jazz play okc in WCF then destroy the Cavs. Somehow Jingles wins finals MVP. Hayward is a good sport about it but Rudy is clearly upset. Rudy shoots greater than .400 from 3 next season.

I think the Jazz need to win 10 more games to snag the 4th seed. That means finishing 10-5 the rest of the way, and I think we need to start by going 3-1 on this road trip (Detroit, Indiana, Chicago w/ likely loss in Cleveland on a B2B). If we only go 2-2 on this trip, we have to pick up a game against GSW or SA at the end of the season, hoping one of those teams is resting players at that point.
