2016-17 NBA PLAYOFFS THREAD

I'm pretty sure that'd be okay but I'm not 100%. If not they will check it.

Last game I went to I had a backpack. I've always been able to take my backpack to my seat, but this time they told me I had to check it. Then I see several other people who had a backpack at their seat.

Maybe it was because I had started drinking before the game. The staff at the arena reminds me of the people who run the voting stations on election day, which here in Utah means LDS senior citizens.

Awesome man, thanks.

I've taken my small phone charger battery in to 2 or 3 games this season. Not sure if they'll be more strict for playoffs, but I haven't ever been questioned on it. I put it in the little bowl thing when I go through the metal detectors and they let me on through.

Yeah that's pretty small though. My buddy's charger is about 1 inch x 4 inches x 7 inches.

Can my buddy bring his Mophie External Battery Charger into the stadium for game 3? He just doesn't want his phone to die because he wants to take a lot of pics/video.

Pretty certain the answer is yes

So Fizdale's rant apparently worked, seems to have fired up his players as well. Memphis winning this one pretty convincingly.

24 fouls for the Grizzlies

21 fouls for the Spurs

20 FT for the Grizzlies

28 FT for the Spurs

I don't think it had any effect on the officiating. They did outplay them tonight for sure though.

Wow I didnt watch the game but just looked at the box score and saw Westbrook scored 51 then I noticed that he took 43 shots and only made 17 of them. That is a kind of Westbrooks season., eye popping numbers but they didnt get the win and his efficiency is rough.

I thought Westbrook was great for the first half, not so great in the second. I think he got really tired, as he played almost the entire game. His game doesn't translate well to tired, that's when his crazy-*** layups and wild passes come out.

You gotta consider the fact that the Spurs in general are one of the teams that fouls the least, so it's not a 50-50 thing. They are smart about their fouls and cut down stupid fouls in general. The point of frustration was that the Grizz play hard in the paint and 50-50 calls went against them too often.
Stuff like blatantly obvious moving screens while the defender is holding the screener, players trying to take charges but not leaning in a direction with their upper body while the attacker also lowers his shoulder a bit...

This is the unit I'm taking.

Rondo fractured his thumb. Out indefinitely. That really helps Boston, except they have to win four without homecourt advantage.

Man that's a bummer with the upset they've been running on Boston. I think they still take the series, though.

I honestly don't see Boston taking a game in Chicago. The rebounding differential has been too much for Boston to overcome and I don't see it changing. Worst #1 seed I can remember.

They took a game. I think they probably still win the series.
