I'm not much a conspiracist buuuuuut this couldn't have been scripted any better.
The current system is fine. We have 2 elite teams, and a few second tier contenders. The East kind of sucks, but that's incidental. In the West, The Jazz could have competed had they been as healthy as GSW. It wouldn't have been a cakewalk. Same with Spurs and Kawhi.
It's always been this way. One or two teams clearly better than everyone else, and a few dark horse teams that are capable of winning it all if everything goes right. The system has its downsides, but they're less soul-sucking than enforced-parity.
ATM it seems like Cleveland has a much larger killer instinct. They are out for blood and just raging. Warriors seem to be OK with coasting. I wonder if that matters in game 1.

These conference finals are spectacular it really is must watch television. I'd rather watch a one legged soccer match.
I've watched exactly 3 quarters of all the conference finals combined so far.
And I'm a die hard basketball fan.
That's gotta be bad for the League, surely.

This is probably the first time ever in the NBA where I think the product is starting to get worse rather than getting better.
And that's not just me, youtube this subject and you'll see a few rant videos.

Jazz are in an nice position.
The warriors have gotta be put into salary cap hell in the next year, right? They can't keep this core together much longer. And how much longer can lebron keep this up?
I see a window opening wide for a team like the jazz after this year.

Warriors window will be closing quickly imo and I'm still not convinced they are as great as everyone makes out.
Lebron on the other hand is playing better now than at anytime in his career. His understanding of the game is phenomenal and his impact has never been so great, I'd predict that he has another 4-5 years at an ELITE level. That being said if there is a team in the East that can take Lebron to 6 games every series (looking at you Philly) on top of his 40+ minutes a night then he is definitely beatable in the finals. A fresh and rested Lebron is a different proposition.
Jazz are in a really good position if they can keep this core together.

Yup. It's been a joke. Whatever that lead to this has gotta go. I'm honestly losing patience.
The NBA has got a golden goose, and it's something like this that could potentially kill it.

KD has been terrible the last few years with PR.
But in fairness to him, what's he supposed to say to that? Is he supposed to apologize? Didn't most of us see this coming? The warriors set a record for wins last year. Then they added KD. It's like the 96 bulls after beating down Seattle in the finals adding Malone or Shaq that summer.

I think that the nba will need to take steps to aid in the parity after this summer. Especially if the finals is a flop (which I wouldn't be surprised if the warriors clean out the cavs 4-1).
The nfl wouldn't be the juggernaut that it is if there wasn't parity. As it stands right now, literally at least half of the league has a shot at the super bowl.
Compare that to the nba. Didn't 100 percent of us essentially predict a cav/warriors final? Did anyone think that the rockets or Spurs would get the warriors? Did anyone think the raptors or Celtics would get the cavs?
