2016 NBA Free Agency Talk

Is it bad that I would consider a Burks for Hollis-Jefferson trade? I feel like Burks just doesn't fit with our defensive mindset and RHJ certainly does and I thought, given his college flaws, he played well last year and showed a lot of promise as a 3 and d guy.

Hill-Exum
Hood-RHJ
Hayward-Johnson
Favors-Lyles-Bolomboy
Gobert-Withey

That is a legit defensive team. Lyles is the only weak spot. if he could improve, holy cow.

I think Burks is going to make people happy this season. Seems that most people think he doesn't fit or just isn't very good or whatever.

He hasn't had a ton of time in quins system. I think Burks has amazing physical tools (speed and athleticism), good size and length, and seems to just get better and better with his outside shot. He is a much more willing passer with quin at the helm too.
And he provides a skillset (very good attacking the rim) that the jazz really need and would miss if he were gone... Especially with the 2nd unit

I think quin will get him to play better defensively. He will fit in fine and I think will prove to be a better player than hollis Jefferson

well, so whats the point of the season now? Unless injuries happen Dubs will win it without breaking a sweat. Just sick.

I usually value sportsmanship very high and am not superstitious, but if somehow health would play a factor on deciding the 2017 championship in favor of the Spurs, I'd probably try to explain it with Karma.

Depending how forgiving some owners are, this could also have implications for the lockout.
LeBron flip-flopping between Cleveland and Miami and now LeBron joining an even bigger superteam that he just fell 1 game short of winning against them...
Some owners may push harder for a franchise player supermax now to improve more equal distribution of transcendent talent in the league.

What are the odds that Harrison Barnes steps away from his Dallas sheet and signs one with OKC?

LeBron has beaten both Durant and Curry in the Finals; he'll do it again next year.

ok, lets not be delusional. Had GSW had Durant instead of Barnes, this season finals would be a sweep. Heck if Kerr would not play Ezeli in game 7 GSW would have won.

Yeah, you're right. Durant is going to improve a 73 win team so much so that they go from losing 4 games in the Finals to losing none. Because, ya know, he's known to be such a clutch player and all.

That was so stupid, I liked KD but he is going to ruin his legacy. Especially if they don't win next year.

I pretty much NEVER agree with Steven A, but he is dead on with his take on this. I used to like Durrant...pfft...weaksauce, totally weaksauce..no resepct for the guy now. Not that it matters in any way at all, but Ill root against him always now.
IF you havent heard the whole take, dont argue stupid crap please. Blah blah, same as Lebron...that stupid crap...no.
Durrant is the best player I have ever seen who is also the worst leader and weakest mentally. I get that he needs someone to lead for him, I get that.,...I guess...Dont like either OKC or GSW, and I personally see this hurting both down the road, so thats good at least..

Even when he wins a title next year, surely it's gonna be hollow ??? He won't get anywhere near the same amount of respect as if he won it on his own team. Lame, really lose respect for a guy who runs to something much easier.

Did GSW lose because Barnes was not clutch or because he could not hit anything in all 4 quarters? You honestly think having Durant shooting all those wide open corner threes instead of Barnes bricking them would made no difference? How about Curry/Durant pick and roll? How they would have defended that?
You sound like GSW needed some clutch shooting to win this series lol. With Durant none of the games would have been even close after 3 quarters.

Did Love lose a lot or respect by going to Cleveland and winning it?

I dont think it was loves choice. IIRC he was traded to cleveland for a package including andrew wiggins.
