What's new

2016 NBA Playoff Thread

I can only imagine the crushing despair Clipper's fans are feeling. They went from "Hey, we really have a shot at making it to the Finals this year" to "We are losing in 6 to the Blazers after being up 2-0".
Those poor bandwagon fans. They'll be in my prayers, I can assure you.

The Pacers just had the biggest 4th quarter meltdown I've seen all season.

And I'm a Jazz fan.

I dunno seems like OKC are on a mission this year with BOTH Westbrook and Durant finally healthy at the same time and knowing this will be one of their last chances to win it all.

Westbrook can shut down parker. Ibaka is a good match for Aldridge. And Durant vs Kawhi is intriguing... I think it will be a close match.

I agree. I think folks be sleepin on the thunder and the cavs..... both teams are peaking right now, are healthy, and having guys consistently step up who had not stepped up before now.

I still think that the spurs and a healthy curry led warriors team are the favorites. But not by as much as everyone else.

Am I the only one that really likes the Blazers roster? They've got so many complimentary pieces to Dame Dolla

Possibly. I know i dont like their roster. Too one dimensional. If lillard and mccollum are cold from the outside then they usually wont win.

I don't see how the Blazers are going to get any better than what they've done this year ?? I have a feeling they've rebounded back to pretty good and that might be it

How can you not see them getting better? Their star is young and signed on for 4 more years. McCollum is still on his rookie contract and at every other position they have ample room to upgrade/develop. It would take some pelicans style mix of poor management and injuries to **** up what they are doin.

Welp, they've got 2 young stars locked up long term... they are missing 1 additional piece for sure to contend... (may be a scoring big?)... if you're a FA looking to cash in (Paul Allen can spend) as well as looking to contend, what other teams offer a better environment for that right now?

I really wanted to see the Clippers win it all this year. CP3 and Griffin (even though I hate CP3 possibly more than any single player of the last 2 decades) are the closest thing to Stockton/Malone the NBA has seen since. It really felt like it was their year to take it after Curry went down.

Isn't Curry expected to return at some point during round 2?

you realize they slaughtered the Jazz on the boards in the season series right?? not exactly an easy thing to do..

I agree. I said i dont really like their current roster.... but i can totally see them getting a lot better due to what you just posted. They have lillard and mccollum to build around. They just need to get better role players. They already have their star power. Getting the star is the hard part, filling out the roster is much easier.

I never said they didn't. What i said is that they rely on lillard and mccollum to be hitting from the outside and if those two are cold they usually wont win. (notice i said usually, there are always exceptions)

They were 5th in the league in team rebounding and 5th in the league in 3pt makes.. I just think Lillard and McCollum get too much credit from casual fans that didn't watch many Trailblazer games.. They're more balanced than most will give them credit for.

I really want to root for Kevin Durant now that OKC has a real shot ...

But I just can't bring myself to cheering for a team own by Clay Bennet... the guy who basically stole the Sonics from Seattle.

Jason Terry with the guarentee that Houston wins. Even without Curry, 9.5 point underdogs and they're @ Oracle. Senility maybe?
