What's new

2016 NBA Playoff Thread

I 100% wanted the Spurs the most out of the three matchups. I was pretty vocal about it so I'm sure others will remember.

Our team can stop the likes of LMA and Kawhi MUCH easier than the likes of Durant and Westbrook. It would have been way easier to slow them down offensively.

Given a fully healthy squad (without injuries to Rudy Burks and Fav) I wanted the Spurs the most. I've said they're fools gold several times.

I'm with NAOS. Who cares which team gives us 4 straight losses? And fools gold? lol. Come on. I know they're down a game to another elite team, but they are still a great team that has every chance to mount a come back against OKC and win it all.

Actually, Kanter played excellent D. Did you see that shot by Duncan that he blocked? I was shocked; I never would've thought that Kanter could actually block a shot like that.

I remember one he did playing for the Jazz that looked more intense. Might be a few more swats he had. But they were all sneaky ones instead of one on ones.

The main difference is he is really playing very good D. Dude wants to win. On the Jazz, I think his career high for blocks was something like 5 on the Bucks. He always used his size pretty well before losing weight especially in post-up defense. Then he got more lazy. Now he is sweating butt cheeks.

A really intelligent and experienced Turkish hoops author tweeted something like this that is so spot on: "Since when did the Spurs stopped being the most aggresive defensive team and the best ball movement team and started being solely LMA iso and Kawhi iso?"

Heat/Raptors game should be good. I've been more interested in this series than I expected; each game has been so damn close.

I was wondering the same thing. Remember when they won the championship a few years ago? That offense was a thing of Beauty. Who have they lost? Splitter and Joseph, right? That's it. What happened to that ball movement? It was like Duncan was dominant 2 years ago (although he was better. He looks done out there now).

Their big three (Duncan, Parker, Manu) are nothing compared to what they were during their last title run.

It's officially Leonard's/LA's team now, and neither are used to being "the guy" for a contender. It'll be interesting to see how they respond in game 6; we'll see what they're really made of.

This.

Derozan putting in work.

If DeRozan and Lowry get going this series is over. Crazy how bad they played in the first 4 games and this series is tied.

Uh, Leonard won finals MVP.

So?

He wasn't the guy that the team counted on to come up huge every night. He wasn't the guy they NEEDED to carry them on a nightly basis or face defeat. He only averaged 12.8 PPG that year.

There's a different pressure on him this year that he hasn't faced before.

But here's the thing. They did have this crazy good ball movement and defense in game one in this series. I'm wondering if it's the three games in five nights that has hurt them of late.

I think it must be Pop. It was him that made the Spurs what they are. And now he feels tired, or bored. This is all he will give. If his team fails, he will be sorry but also so be it. Just getting that vibe from him.

e.g. He would murder the player that would go iso without his telling before. Now he says "LMA is a grown man. He can decide for himself."
