2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

GSW's lead balloons up to 29 at the half...

With GSW seeming locking up the home court, it's gonna be difficult for the Cavs to repeat I think.

Ya, I dont think the Cavs will win this time around. That last game in Cleveland they should have lost. They were getting waxed then too and Golden State let them back in it.

As long as Golden State stays healthy they will win it this year.

They are missing a huge piece in JR Smith and GSW are completely healthy, no?

When the Cavs were down 2-0 in the 2016 Finals, they had lost 7 consecutive games against GS. So yeah, CLE losing today doesn't mean much to me.

No. I wouldn't call JR Smith a huge piece. Certainly not this year. He has been awful this year. He got his money and quit.

The Warriors had a very good chance of beating them last year. They had them on the ropes, then had a melt down. That was without Durant.

What I said saw last year was Cleveland throwing everything they had at Curry and Klay, and said make the rest of the team beat us, it worked. Harrison Barnes was god awful. He couldnt hit a wide open shot to save his life. Now he is replaced by Durant. Ya, Bogut is gone and its not quite the same team, but I wouldnt let the record and Curry stats fool you. They are a much better team. The fire power they have is ridiculous. Cavs dont have an answer for all of them. Durant isn't going to be missing wide open shots. They can't even leave him wide open like they did Barnes. When it comes down to it, the Warriors are going to show what they can really do once they get a full season of playing together. The Cavs adding Korver isnt going to be enough either. Korver is washed up amd frankly not even that good. I don't care if they get JR back either. None of that compares to the Warriors getting Durant.

Cause he could get injured at any point. Can't give an award to someone if they don't even play half the season (well, except for Steve Kerr apparently).

Do me a favor and let me know when you've changed your mind. The only rookie to avg more points per 36 was Wilt Chamberlain.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are actively shopping point guard Ricky Rubio in trade proposals, league sources told The Vertical.

The Timberwolves have attached Rubio to multiple offers with Shabazz Muhammad to several teams around the NBA, league sources said. Minnesota has been seeking something of a “bridge” guard in return, a player capable of starting in the short term, but who’ll ultimately settle into a backup role and give way to rookie Kris Dunn to become the long-term starter, league sources said.

Mack and a 2nd?

Rubio is a dang good player, would love to have him here as the backup guard/free agency insurance. We'd have to send out long term salary to make it feasible though... One of Johnson/Burks/Diaw along with Mack/GS pick? Ehh, not sure it gets it done.

I wouldn't mind Rubio as a backup, but I'd rather have each of JJ, Burks, and even Diaw. And, there's no ****ing way I want to pay Rubio for the remainder of his contract. No way.
