What's new

2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

Yeah I wonder about that. You'd have to be damn sure that your new situation is going to work before walking away from $200m.

I mean, ... that is a HUGE sum of money. It could make him literally one of the richest man in Sacramento. He could even buy a share of SAC's ownership of he wanted to ... LOL ...

Has there ever been an owner/current player in the this league? He could be the first. That would be awesome. He could sign who he wants. He could fire who he wants. Brings in a new GM and a new coach if he doesn't like how things are going.

LOL ... ultimate power.

I'm pretty sure there are bylaws in the CBA for such a huge conflict of interest.

Wow.

Twilight Zone time?

Sources: At tip-off, Knicks still hadn't been in contact with Derrick Rose. Unclear if they've reached him -- or kept trying -- during game.

Rose for Diaw and Mack works...Add in some draftpicks for another win now move?? He's on a 1 year deal so flexibility is maintained.

He'd definitely appreciate the fresh start to make a case for his freeagency, and a playoff bound team.

Theres a report floating that says the Heat is shopping every player on the team..

Which means they've made Whiteside available cos everyone else had been available for a long time now.

Whiteside's been strangely ineffective this year. Not sure why. Maybe cos they're not contending and there isn't really much to play for? I mean why bust your *** when your team's tanking?

I think POR makes sense. Put him next to either Lillard or McCollum and swap the other for Whiteside plus maybe another big? James Johnson?

He'll provide them with much needed defensive presence, can also score.

What is happening to Atlanta?

I mean seriously? They were reported shopping Millsap, then they said he's staying cos Millsap wants to stay in Atlanta. Then they traded Korver for a song. And now they want a 2nd round pick for Tim Hardaway Junior cos they don't want to pay for him as a RFA.

Who's their GM? It seems like the team is run by bunch of high school kids... LOL !!!

Wow actually I think you might be right:

On January 19, 2000, Jordan returned to the NBA not as a player, but as part owner and President of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards. Jordan's responsibilities with the Wizards were comprehensive. He controlled all aspects of the Wizards' basketball operations, and had the final say in all personnel matters. Opinions of Jordan as a basketball executive were mixed. He managed to purge the team of several highly paid, unpopular players (such as forward Juwan Howard and point guard Rod Strickland), but used the first pick in the 2001 NBA draft to select high schooler Kwame Brown, who did not live up to expectations and was traded away after four seasons.[96][100]

Despite his January 1999 claim that he was "99.9% certain" that he would never play another NBA game, in the summer of 2001 Jordan expressed interest in making another comeback, this time with his new team. Inspired by the NHL comeback of his friend Mario Lemieux the previous winter, Jordan spent much of the spring and summer of 2001 in training, holding several invitation-only camps for NBA players in Chicago. In addition, Jordan hired his old Chicago Bulls head coach, Doug Collins, as Washington's coach for the upcoming season, a decision that many saw as foreshadowing another Jordan return.

So you CAN be an owner, a GM, and a player all at the same time!!!!

Wow, I wonder if Cousins realizes this? It'll be a perfect fit for him.
