2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

Neil Olshey has long been one of the best GM's in the league and this Nurkic move might be his best one since drafting McCollum.

If Nurkic and Vonleh turn out to be the frontcourt of the future he's done a fantastic job of buying low..

Lmao vonleh is trash, Aminu is their PF of the future.

Dame
CJ
Harkless
Among
Nurkic

With Crabbe off the bench. That's a nice lineup. Nurk was a ****ing coup & the passing lanes Nurk is creating for his cutters are a true nightmare. We're gonna butt heads against them lots in the coming years.

Vonleh's just hitting his stride. Instant gratification seeking clouds your judgement.

Noah Vonleh's last five games:

4.8 PPG

4.4 RPG

17 minutes a game

He's attempted 0 threes (tried telling everyone it was an anomaly). Why hasn't he become the "stretch four" like some predicted?

He's just hitting his stride though.

Is basketball all about the #'s? As someone who watches a ton of games I feel like I'm always talking to a bunch of people who just look at stats and formulate their opinions from there.. actually I know I am.... lets be real; what % of the people on this board work dayjobs..

The element of chronology is often overlooked by those informed by the mass and local/territorial media.. You think you can pin the trajectory of his career? I dare ya to let us in on the secret.

Most of the times I feel these stat crunching know it alls (often with no real data mining backgrounds) don't even look at pertinent #'s tbh.

Vonleh has started 18 of their last 19 and in that stretch the Blazers are 10-8. He's a good compliment to Nurkic, above avg athlete for an NBA starting PF he's younger than Exum and some of the possible 1st rd picks this year such as Jonathan Motley, he's obviously rapidly improving and his work ethic(and talent) has endeared him with many of his teammates.. He's on the upswing clearly.. He thoroughly outplayed recent lotto pick Domantas Sabonis the other night.

20 of his 175 FGA's on the season have been from 3 and he's made 7 of them (35%)... praytell what have you seen thats led you to beleive that his 3pt shot wont be a factor for the rest of his career (other than citing a 5-game stretch where he's playing limited minutes)

Is Brook Lopez making 100 3's this season after making 3 in his first 8 anomalous? I'd say no. Who's to say Vonleh cant have a similar uptick, You? lets hear why. details.

I really wish the NBA would just cut games down to 62 or something. I know they never will because of $$$, but it would make the NBA way better.

Looks like the Jazz has dodged a bullet with Ty Lawson, he seems to have violated his probation and looks to be facing jail time.

I think if you're into fantasy basketball and watches every team each and everyday (like I know you are), yes currently there may be too many games. Like today for example I think there are 10+ games, you simply can't watch them all at once. So you think there are too many games and therefore games can be cut down.

But for the average fan who just follows 1 team and waits for that game every 2-3 days, then 62 games is not really enough for them IMO.
