2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

A lot of good traditional bigs will fall in drafts for years to come because of how stacked center is becoming in the NBA.
Good point, and while many have been bigs- Jokic, Nurkic, Zubac, Zizic, you also have a guy like Saric- and to their credit and your point, the Sixers took him in the lottery.

Doesn't really need to be a primetime euro league either I think that 2013 draft proved that point beyond a shadow of a doubt.

This kid could end up pretty damn good he's a legit giant.

Caris LeVert is quietly having one of the better rookie seasons in the NBA.. Nets gambled on him according to prognosticators and mock drafts and it appears to have paid off in spades..

Versatile player, he plays defense, he's athletic, can do a bit of everything..

"A source close to the situation also said players have tuned out Hornacek. And following Sunday’s loss, Porzingis described the game-planning as inconsistent and confusing."

Yeah but who's the real problem here though? Isn't it Phil Jackson the one who's been trying to install the triangle since the All Stars break despite every single players hating it?

When I first read that quote I thought it said "turned out" which made it sound like Knicks players had started prostituting Jeff Hornaceck.

This years squad is ****ed. Hornacek is as lame a duck as you can find. NYers aren't about giving him a fair shot, he hasn't done enough to change the losing culture. So he's not good enough, it's that simple. He's a dead man walking, the players undermined his leadership long ago, with the D. Rose flare-up and the bickering in the media.

There's a lack of institutional control that trickles down from Dolan. There's little doubt that I'd have done a much better job, as we all know here I'd have certainly taken Porzingis, which is really far and away Phils crowning achievement.

They'll clean much of the house and start anew, finally with some draftpicks.

I never liked the hiring in the first place. I thought they should've handed David Blatt full control, no way they could be this ****ed with him at the helm.

I honestly think Hornacek saw this coming. It was a bad fit for him to start with. I mean he's hardly the triangle expert. He knows Phil will ask him to install the stupid triangle offense which players hate, it won't work with D.Rose and Carmelo.

I bet he saw this coming and just wanted to take the money and run... LOL ...

I hope that he had better intentions than just a money grab.. Dolan has sorta invited that tho.. The whole thing is like some sick triangle MElo-Phil-Dolan.. those 3 are like some match made in basketball hell

If I were Dolan I'd fire Phil, give my blessing to waive melo, hire a low profile but quality Jr executive from a quality franchise ro be President of bball operations, let him hire a new GM and let them build a team.

Seriously it's New York. There is no reason why a couple of old has beens(perhaps never was in Melo's case) should be holding that franchise hostage.

That early leak out cherry picking action should work real well once they've got Ben Simmons back.

Tim really looks like an obvious plus athlete out there.

I hope he can lock down their starting SG spot for years to come.. Fultz would be insane on that team.. bring in 3'n'd players off the bench (and Okafor)

Fultz - Luwawu - Simmons - Saric - Embiid

I think I'm gonna change my "who'd I've have taken 12th" from Zubac back to Luwawu.

Didn't they also draft Korkmaz?

You know that quote in "Changing Lane" when Samuel L Jackson, an alcoholic, was told "You're addicted to chaos"? It went on to say "For some of us it's Coke, for some of us it's bourbon, but you, you got hooked on DISASTER".

I have a feeling Dolan got hooked on DISASTER. He can't do it the right way (build through the draft, make small incremental improvements, etc). No, not for him, he has to do it the chaotic way.
