What's new

2016

Because I actually pay attention to the facts, and am not hypnotized by the 10 o'clock news every night.

I should've just joined the Obama/Romney sheep, and accepted that's the way it's always going to be.

The mark expresses his high personal opinion and low opinion of everyone, thus exemplifying why he's a perfect mark.

Straight up, negro.

You all are thinking it. I don't even need to say it.

I don't have a low opinion of anyone, until they throw out personal attacks.
Even then, I still respect certain aspects of that person.

You all are thinking it. I don't even need to say it.

Really now, so what is everybody thinking?
That One Brow couldn't ever play around on these cute little web boards, because then we might not take him so serious anymore?

You pay attorneys to hide them. Each candidate has something. It's like the Obama campaign requesting 10 years of tax returns from Romney.

Listened to the video. There was nothing there, as expected.

Did you go to college? Do you think any Tom, Dick, or Harry can get a copy of your transcripts, if you did?

The answer to the second question is no. The college only releases your transcripts at your request. You don't need to spend a dime or lift a finger. You only need to spend money to have them released.

Have you come up with a good reason to care about Obama's transcripts, when no one was worried about Clintion's or either of the Bushes'?

I assume you're implying that Obama's transcripts have something to do with race? I couldn't care less about his transcripts, but I also don't view it as him being picked on. It's similar to Romney and his taxes. One guy releases tax returns, another guy releases college transcripts .. It's really a matter of what the media chooses to make an issue of .. That 'we' will feed on.

So what happens in 2016? Is this a sequel to 2001 and 2010 Space Odyssey?

Certainly, many people are noting that what seems to be the first Presidential candidate to have his transcripts requested happens to be from a group whose overall academic ability is questioned (not necessarily overtly) by many people. Do you think that's purely coincidence?

I agree Obama is not being "picked on"; having these sorts of discussions are part and parcel of running for office. Would you agree this interest in transcripts is unique and not random? Wo9uld you agree that this is contrasted with tax returns, which Presidential candidates have been releasing for several election cycles?

I don't know whether this is answering your questions specifically, but I'll just give my thoughts.

It seems there are more people than ever trying to make a name for themselves (media members and individuals alike). Everything imaginable is requested of public figures today. Next election there will be a new college transcripts thing..

Too many searching for fame, stirring the pot, or just trying to look smart, by uncovering some nefarious activity in the personal lives of others.

So, no, I don't think Obamas transcripts is racially motivated (at all). I think it's just another item someone along the way thought to ask for .. and because he has been unwilling to release them.. pow, something's wrong. It's so damn stupid, imo.

I am not saying that some people don't like him because he's black'ish (jk). I'm certain that's the case. I just don't view correlation with the college transcripts.

Fair enough. It's easy for me to see a correlation, perhaps too easy, and I could be over-reaching. It does come down to speculating on motives, never a straight-forward task.

I'm not more interested in seeing this than I would be for a movie by a liberal hack positing an armchair psychoanalysis of Romney. The right hates Obama so much that they invent these grand theories to try to explain away this radical, anti colonialist (as if that's a bad thing), America hating, Islam loving, would be grand social experimenter who those of us without an axe to grind see as a moderate governing as a moderate. I mean, the most radical thing Obama has done in his administration is enact a health care reform that was originally concocted in the halls of right wing think tanks and implemented on a state-wide basis by his Republican challenger.

I remember when those on the right was foaming at the mouth about the radical Bill Clinton (I remember it well because I was one of them at that time), the hatred for him and Hillary was not too dissimilar to their hatred for Obama, who now everyone, including those on the right, recognize as having governed as a pretty down the middle of the road moderate. It's amazing what insights some perspective and surrender of irrational hatred can produce.

Ah, so you're a flip-flopper.

I like to think of it as having grown up. I have no problem when people change their minds or views based on new info, convincing arguments, seeing a different perspective etc. all of the things that don't apply to Romney.

Barry Soetero got into an ivy league college based on race instead of merit, the same way he got into the presidency based on race instead of merit.
