I don't understand how Klay got the elite defender reputation. He is a good defender but nowhere near elite. Hayward, George, Durant, Butler, Kawhi, Lebron, Paul are at least equal or better offensively and defensively.

He is not an elite defender. He is good and plays within the team defense.

He is, it's not really that close. Klay can shoot and play decent defense. Hayward's defense is just as good and he can do more on offense.

I wouldn't say he doesn't play defense. He has some struggles, but he'll be fine. He still makes more overall impact than Klay does.

I agree that he is a good defender. He doesn't gamble, stays in front of his man but he is better on-ball than off-ball. He sleeps and ball watches sometimes. Not as concentrated.
