2017 Annual JazzFanz Current Players NBA Draft

We're already at 16 teams. Do we want to try to get to 20? I know a few people said if there is more than 16 they're out so maybe getting more would be counterproductive.

What are we thinking as far as a tie-breaker goes?

Whoever gets the most votes from the other teams in the competition or have a three person committee who doesn't vote on any of the matchups?

Any other ideas are also welcome.

Why though? As long as they aren't going over the time they are allowed.

So you prefer people taking more time? Would you prefer everyone taking their full allotment to explore trades?

If someone is online and available to make a pick then it will move along much faster if they are not trying to trade. There is no reason you can get a trade done well ahead of time. Unless you are the first couple picks but I doubt anyone trades those.

For me it was frustrating to check in frequently to see if I am on the clock and realize I am next up and have to keep checking to see if they finished before I went to bed. But I guess I could have just gone to bed and made everyone wait more. If notifications actually worked... that would speed things up for me.

Ill put Fish on official text duty for when I am OTC.

On the flip side if this things takes forever who cares I guess.

Why?

I like the idea of otc trades. Easier to gage if u can pick up an extra pick and still get your guy. Taking those trades away takes away some of the fun and strategy. It's the summer and it's boring, why speed this up. Take our time and have some god damn fun for hell sakes!!

Says the guy who was in a rush to start this, and gets pissy whenever somebody takes more than an hour to pick.

I like counting people in the competition first and then if that is tied go to a 3 person tie breaker. I am also okay with if it ends tied going into a sudden death and first person to get 1 vote wins, it makes it exciting.

Exactly, people keep saying its the summer they dont care. But if I am asleep and it take me 6 hours to make my pick then people freak out in here and lose their ****. If we allow OTC trades then people need to not worry or comment on the time someone takes to make their pick until their time runs out.

What are the rules on time running out? What is the time limit on picks? Is the clock off on the weekends?

We shouldn't. I'm sure a bunch of people will complain about missing out on the registration, but 16 is a perfect number for the playoffs. You'd need to go to 32 to avoid a mess in later rounds.

Just make sure that the people who are listed are still in.

I think the clock should be off on the weekends.

Ok, where can I see the current ruleset?
I am from down under so if there is an expectation to be OTC and make a pick within an hour when it's 3am here then I am out.

Yes. All picks must be made between 3am - 4am Australia time.

I honestly can't recall the last time someone took longer than that or even came close.

But we should point out that we're looking for people who are active on the forums on daily basis. We'd rather not wait 12 hours every time.

I think the clock should be off on the weekends.

Why? Should it only be on during the weekdays, from 9-5 Mountain Time, with an hour off for lunch?

We're in the 21st century, and are actually discussing this on a Sunday night. Is there anyone participating who doesn't have internet access on the weekends?
